Get professional salon products. They're gentler on the hair and won't strip the color off. I use Matix Colortheraphie shampoo and conditioner.

I use Tresemme Color Thrive Shampoo and Lock In spray and as for conditioner I use Pantene Time Renewal. I have in the past used almost every brand on the market. Tresemme is the first one I have used where I have actually noticed a significant difference in how long my color lasts. Pantene Time renewal has actually made my hair look healthier than it has looked in a very long time and I have only been using it for about a month. Just for the record, I have used many of the salon brands including alot of the ones mentioned above and have absolutely hated most them. Higher prices do not necessarily mean higher quality.

Hiya, I have naturally brown hair and when I had high and low lights I noticed a difference when I used a colour care shampoo, conditioner and intensive masks. It has to be good quality so in the UK I would look to pay at least £4 a bottle. I also used something called colour Lock by Tresemme which I put on prior to styling. Again, I found this to work but I think the other answerer got it right when they mentioned the quality of the hair colour initially. Have a chat with your stylist and see what they think. :-)

Do not use Cheap products in your colored hair. Pantene, Finesse, Dove, etc - these will strip the color out of your hair. Redken has great shampoos made especially for colored hair! Beauty Supply places always have sale and specials, try good shampoos and conditioners and I guarantee you will be able to tell the difference! Your color will last sooo much longer!

I recently got highlights in my hair, and can truthfully say that Thermasilk has the best shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair. Try it and see your colour look more vibrant after a wash. And if you use heat styling, the colour never becomes dull.

Visit an Aveda store and you will be the happiest person alive. Make sure that the person that helps you isn't one of those 20 yr old airheads and they'll get you going in the right direction. They have different 'poos' for different shades and so on..... good luck, from a metrosexual. ( and no, don't use paul mitchell, pantene or suave....god help us all )

Anything by paul Mitchell for shampoo and Last Call! conditioner. That conditioner not only smells AMAZING, it makes your hair like silk. It's amazing stuff, I think you should try it and tell me how you like it. ;-)
