The literacy rate in the US is 97% although there is some debate that suggests this rate may be lower. However, if this rate is true it means that America is ranked 55th in the world for adult literacy.

before I came to the USA, I think I read in the almanac to be very small.
But when I come over here and see it. Men you do got so many illiterate people-specially in the south.
I would say around 30%-40%.
And the two minority groups tend to contribute the most of it

you should ask what % of people in US are stupid and u will be surprised. especially considering the fact that they r only 5%the population of the world but have 25% of the GDP of the world
