Big question, or LIST of questions ?
here goes:
1. Yes, among other things that you should try to do, like treat others well, ETC. ( Although hell is not what people think it is at all. It's not even called Hell once in the Bible - that is, the place people THINK of as Hell )
2. Yes, if you don't pray and show God ( see the capital 'G' ? ) that you want a relationship with Him, He will eventually not want a relationship with you.
-Why, have you ever met someone who really likes people who hate/ don't like them ? I never have.
3. No, some have a lesser relationship with God, some have none, most are very lost and THINK they do, but don't. I don't know how people can get through life's trials without God's strength.
4. Incorrect. The Jews are not God's Chosen People- you are referring to the Israelites. Jews accept the Old Testament only, that's why they still won't eat meat unless it's kosher, etc. They don't accept Jesus, or recognize that He is the Son of God. That's why the number of Jews who will be saved is actually spoken of in the Bible- and considering all of the Jews throughout time, it's a small number ( sorry : [ )
5. I don't recall Jesus calling Himself the Son of God, in that exact phrase, but He did refer to God MANY times as "My Father", etc. He certainly never denied it.
6. God did create us all, and Jesus did use those terms to refer to that notion, but it wasn't that notion/ feeling every time He used that phrase.
7. ( WOW. - remember people usually ask one question. But I'm trying to help you out ? ) People do worship the cross symbol and money, possessions, beauty, ETC ! The list never ends.
8. Jesus would be ashamed of people worshipping idols. Especially one that He died on- that is another notion of the Anti Christ- to popularize something so bad. Is that all Jesus is, or is two planks of wood the best way to symbolize Him ?
9. No, we shouldn't use any pictures or symbols. In the Old Testament
( again you have to believe the Bible to believe this silliness ) but some people were worshipping a false god, so God had Moses kill them, behead them and put their heads on poles. God didn't enjoy/ gets pretty mad when people do that.
- I'm glad you lost your train of thought, b/c you wore me out. - time to go to sleep.
I HOPE that helps you understand/ raises your curiosity.
PD
- All of this is in the bible, by the way, for people who beleive in that silly stuff.

Being a Christian doesn't depend on what we do, but on God's grace offered to us by faith alone. We don't spend all of our time on our knees praying and reading the Bible--rather, the Bible calls us to constantly have an attitude of praise and gratefulness and thanks. What we allow Jesus to do in our lives will show through our actions, though. Some people think if they DO all the "right" stuff that that means they are Christians, but Jesus said that not everyone who calls Him "Lord" will be saved--only those people who actually follow Him and do His will, not just call Him their Lord when they never intended to really follow Him. Jesus said that people will know who is really His follower by their love.
Jews are still waiting for the Messiah to appear--they've been expecting a military leader, not a spiritual leader--and the earliest Christians in fact were Jews who believed and trusted that Jesus is the Messiah.

First off, you can't just pray and read the Bible and all if good with you and God. You have to walk the road of life with God. Live as closely to how God wants us to live and not constantly saying "sorry God I won't do it again this time I mean it". The Jews are God's chosen people b/c Jesus himself is a Jew. And we don't worship just Jesus. We worship him and God. And to my knowledge of Jewwish belief, they believe in God but not Jesus.
And that's what seperates the two beliefs. God says we must repent for our sins and believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose on the third day to sit at the right hand of God. And Jesus is our only way to Heaven. If you don't believe in Jesus you're not getting passed him. God makes that clear you must believe in Jesus as your lord and savior. The symbol of the cross is a reminder. We bear the cross showing people "hey Jesus died on this so that I can have eternal life"

A person goes to hell for rejecting Jesus as God's son. The more you come to know the character of God (from reading the bible), praise and worship come naturally. He is wonderful, and you enjoy telling Him so. Yes the Jews are God's "chosen" people, but because they rejected Jesus, the gospel was given to the gentiles. There will come a time when God deals with them again...but no one, including Jewish people, are saved without faith in Christ. No one worships a cross....or no one should anyway...we use it as a reminder of how Jesus died for us. And the Pharisees put this question to Jesus, "are you the son of God"? Jesus answered, "it is as you say". They were enraged that He would equate Himself with God...that is one of the reasons they sought to kill Him.
Hope that helps somewhat.

I think everyone before me has given you some really awesome advice and answered your questions. The only thing I can add as far as constant prayer, praise and reading the Bible is that as christians these are ideal ways of "walking the walk". Will you go to hell if you don't, No. Your salvation is based solely on the promise with Jesus that you have accepted Him as your Saviour and as the Son of God. God created us, he knows our shortcomings and that we are sinners. I recently got an email with a painting of a street and the rain was pouring down. The story attached to it was about a little girl riding in the car with her dad and she told her dad that "we are the rain and God is the windshield wipers. We keep sinning just like the rain keeps coming and God just keeps wiping away our sins like the windshield wipers. Children can make such wonderful observations that us grown ups can't see. I will pray for you tonight, keep asking questions whenever you doubt, but your best answers are in God's word. God Bless you!!

Accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour and repent of your sins and you will go to heaven= all the other is a good idea - and helpful- God wants our companionship and us talking/praying w him- Jesus hung on the cross- and left the tomb- we should wear an empty tomb or the stone that was rolled away- or both- D

Jesus said that He is GOD and that His Father is GOD.
Jesus said "I AM" -- the Name for Deity.
Jesus said "Before Abraham was, I AM".
He said "I and the Father are one".
No, He didn't say "my father" as in God is the father of all of us.
When His disciples asked Him to pray, He said, Whey YOU Pray, say. "Our father ...."
But after His resurrection, He said "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God". Clearly He shows the special and distinct relationship He had with His Father, God; different than their relationship was or ever could be.
We do worship Him because of His sacrificial Death on the Cross .... delivered for our offences, and raised for our justification.
But we also worship Him using the sign of the fish ...Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour.
As to whether we go to Hell ... not when He was delivered for our offences and raised for our Justification. However, if we "don't pray, give constant thanks and praise, read the Bible", when we go 7 days without prayer, that makes one weak!! (please note, WEAK, not week.) It doesn't doom us to Hell, but we do miss the fellowship and strengthening.
Yes, the Jews were God's chosen people, chosen for through them would all nations be blessed.

My definition of Christian is a follower of Christ. Jesus Christ, who is God, became the one and only sacrifice for the salvation of mankind. - Jesus is God and there is one, not many paths that lead to God - Jn.3; Jn.14:5-6; Acts 2:21; Acts 4:12; Rom.10:10; Cols.1:20-22; Cols.2:13-15 After we die we go to our eternal reward of heaven or hell. - Salvation is not thru reincarnation or in living a pretty good life. - Whether we put our faith in Jesus while we lived on earth determines our eternal destiny. - No second chance after we die. No purgatory. When we die our destiny is sealed for ever. - Matt.3:12; Matt.25:41; Heb.9:27; Rev.20; Rev.21:27
According to Matthew 7, there will be those who stand before God and call themselves Christian but God will say "depart from me I never knew you". They were not building their lives on a Christian foundation or worldview. They were only Christian in name.
I can not pick and choose which parts of the Bible I will obey if I want to be a follower of Jesus!
A new generation of Christians are buying into the lie that you can be a Christian and pick and choose your values based on your own preferences instead of the absolutes of scripture.
Biblical absolutes, logic and reason are out of style and tolerance, choice and preferences are in.
This shift of worldviews has a great impact on our lives and church.
At one time the word "intolerance" was used for things such as racism but today it is being used against anyone who questions another person's values or belief system.
In the new worldview everything is relative. There is no right and wrong beliefs. There is no objective set of absolutes other then what the individual of community chooses.
The new measure of morality is "If it doesn't hurt anyone it is ok"
Of course this is all based on a lie. All sin hurts not only the individual but those around them and the very fabric of a society.
Anyone who claims to have absolutes is viewed as the new radical fundamentalists of society.
The scriptures, not the preferences of man are the basis for truth and so we have both authority and responsibility to speak and share our faith.
Ezek 3:18 When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.
The universal truth for all cultures and peoples is written in the Bible:
John 14:5-6 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
What have you decided about Jesus?
Have you embraced not only Jesus but his teachings? Are you living a biblical worldview?
Are you walking in obedience to the absolutes of His word as the authority in your life for the decisions you make?
If not, according to the Bible, you really don't love Jesus. Jesus said in John 14:15: "If you love me you will obey what I command". In other words if you love Jesus you will live by a Biblical worldview.

Prayer is no good.
We can't face problems in the world such as:
(global warming, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, sting-rays being defensive, etc etc)
by using prayer, science proves this.
Instead of wasting your time preparing for
an afterlife, spend this entire life preparing your future generations for their lives and so on.
The one's who didn't evactuate New Orleans
just sat back and prayed that the hurricane
wouldnt flood New Orleans. Wow!!! Their prayers
were answered huh? They didnt leave b/c they were
lazy and thought prayer could help divert the
hurricane. WRONG! We as a human race have to take onproblems in the world Face-to-Face, not Face-to-Thought.
