Vitamin A daily requirements are:

Men: 1000 mcg
Women: 800 mcg

or, RDA for vitamin A is 5000 IU (about 1mg) where RDA is Recommended Daily Allowance.

Side effects of Vitamin A overdose:

Because vitamin A is fat-soluble, rather than water-soluble, excess supplies are stored in the liver, where it lasts for 200 - 300 days, rather than being flushed out of the body on a daily basis. This means that in cases where high doses have been taken over a long period of time, it is possible to have vitamin A poisoning. Symptoms are dizziness, nausea, headaches and vomiting. Early signs of excess vitamin A consumption are dry and itchy skin.

I would not take vitamin a unless rx by your doc, it is in almost every food that has a vitamin additive, so that is cereal, bread, packaged food, etc. some vitamins are harmless, take too much, pee it out. Not A, it can enlarge your spleen!

One time, no problem, but stop now.

Just my advice.

there should be no side effects if it is just a vitamin taken with your meals.
