What a good question. Yes I think so. Because God can mean just about anything, right? When you say Jesus...everyone just sort of catches their breath, because inherent in His name is His claim that He is the only way to God. That is much, much too "narrow" for most people. That is why it's easier to speak of a "generic" God...who they can make into anything they wish.

I am very comfortable with the word god than Jesus because Jesus is not the only god in town. I find that those who makes claim that Jesus is one and only god are either ignorant or arrogant.

God is almighty and powerful among everything. Jesus is his son and God the almighty Father created him. There is a big difference between the Father and the Son. the Father who is the creator is not the same as the son that was created. Its better to say the word God if reffering to the father and Jesus for the son.

Yes, I certainly think that's true of many people. I myself was never in doubt about God the Father, even as a little child. Where I had to make my leap of faith was in accepting (and surrendering to) Jesus as the Son who is one with the Father. That's such a difficult concept for me to grasp that I felt I couldn't/shouldn't/wouldn't really give myself to Jesus until I understood it fully. After all, if the very basis of this thing called "Christian faith" was so incomprehensible, then how could I even know what to do or what was expected of me? My insistence on understanding everything in advance prevented my trusting in Him. My spirit was thirsting for Him, but my mind wouldn't let me taste the Living Water because it was preoccupied with the nature of the cup. Silly, huh?
Sorry to be so long-winded but your question really struck a chord with me.

I would say no as God is the father figure that will punish you for your sins. where as Jesus is a big brother that will scould you and teach you how to avoid doing wrong again.

You can't prove 1 without the other. Since neither one has been proven to be what they are said to be, I believe in NULL.
