How do I weight train to get muscles without stopping my growth? especially since I'm just in high school. I want to be as tall as possible but have defined muscles without hindering my growth.
If i lift weights, i know i won't be as tall as i could have been, but i dont want to wait until im fully grown to get started.

its a myth, it wont stop your growth....what it could do however, is arch your back a little if ur not careful....if ur gonna be lifting very heavy weights above ur head, lie down on a bench or sumthing similar..otherwise, dont worry about it....good to keep fit

(lol) I have to laugh a little because you must be around 15 to ask that question.....it's okay though, I understand. Whomever told you that you could lose height is either uninformed (doctors can be wrong) or they're messing with you. Simply make sure you take in a lot of protein and you'll have nothing to worry about. Also, and I know it's a pain, but stretching is much more important than most any gym teacher will ever tell you. Stretching every day will help you much later in life as well. good luck.

Weight training won't affect one's height. That's just a myth. It isn't recommended for young children, but I've seen many high schoolers do this (wrestlers, football players, even volleyball players, etc.) and it didn't have a negative effect on them.

regular weight training won't affect your height. Just don't go overboard. In fact, where I live, weight training is offered in high school.
