They can't answer this question, because deep inside, they know God is real.

How funny, believe in God that requires faith and no evidence or at best imaginative story telling from a nasty little black book; but, you would required an unbeliever to present documentation. There has been stated that some late found Dead Sea Scrolls tell that religion is all bogus and a crock and even tells why. Why don't you take the time to research this? Some have tried, but many say the truth is being kept from us.

Try this on for size, if Jesus through immaculate conception was born of Mary while she was married to Joseph, does not that sort of make Jesus a bastard? Later in life as an unemployed carpenter, perhaps the quality of his work denied him employment? Perhaps a flower child of his time? Who knows?, and for many, who cares?

Or how about, when Jesus had his first 80 followers, at the same time in history, in Mexico City lived a civilization of 11,000,000 plus people who enjoyed their own believe and that believe didn't include Jesus.

Course then I remember several years ago there was a plane crash in India and only a 2 month old baby survived. The world proclaimed, "Thank God." I want to know who do we thank for the 495 people that perished.

Let's just say, I don't need a religious crutch to get along in this world.

As a believer in God and Jesus, this is a silly question because unbelievers would ask us the same thing. Our bible is mere words that men wrote and men are fallible, the only documents to prove Jesus existence can be dismissed over something as simple no actual dna proof that he existed, who knows they could of caught the wrong man or something. We believe in not documented proof of the existence of anything but merely in the idea that they exist which makes it real to us.

If u ask they them to provide proof of u should provide documented proof more than mere words that are infallible. Which leaves out historical documents, because we weren't alive back then and basically have to take most of them at face value. Als religious books are left out because men penned, who knows they could of misunderstood the message at times, and the fact some of them have been translated so many times we don't know what was left out, Example the bible.

So please don't ask them to do something that we as believers in any faith/religions honestly can't do ourselves.

The fact that there are so many religions in the world to choose from is enough reason for me. They are all equal in my eyes since I can't prove any of them right or wrong. If you need documented proof of the fact that many religions are vastly different then go to the library and read about other religions and cultures.

No one knows how life began and no one knows what happens after death. All anyone has are hypothesis built on scientific deduction or beliefs based on tradition or words printed in books. I am not an unbeliever any more than I am a believer. Anyone who believes they definitely know is a fool. In other words, no one has yet to produce proof either way. I'm simply stating the obvious and the oneous of proof does not fall on me.

If you don't want Athiests thinking you're a nutjob who has an imaginary friend, I'm afraid it's up to you to proove that he IS real. The onus is not on anyone to proove a negative. Proove to me that the Flying spaghetti Monster isn't real. You can't do it.

btw, I love the comment about mere words being fallible.Considering that many Christians base their entire belief on the words in the bible.

Unbelief in what? I believe Elvis is dead if that's what you mean. You really need to think about your questions before you ask them. It's so vegue I can only guess you're talking about a religion? Which one? You ask for proof yet you can't even ask a clear question? What on earth are you talking about?

Unbelievers of what? I don't believe in chainsaw juggling llamas because of how unlikely such a beings existence is and the lack of evidence.

"Please provide documented proof"

Documented proof that chainsaw juggling llamas don't exist? A disbelief requires no proof at all, the burden of proof is on the one that makes the claim.

Scientific skepticism. It is the basis for so much of our knowledge.

Simply put, there is no proof or evidence of God. However, there is no way to disprove the idea of God. Therefore, the entire concept is not falsifiable, so it is unscientific and irrelevant. It's the same question as the existence of Santa Clause; there is no way to prove Santa Clause doesn't exist, and no proof that he does, so therefore it is assumed that he does not exist. The burden of proof is on the believer, and not the skeptic.

Unbelievers as in us who don't believe in the Christian God?
There are other beliefs in what God is, and they don't all have to fall under your definition, and as far as mere words alone....you're correct, so why is it that you base your belief on mere words from a book?

If you mean to direct this at nonbelievers, then the burden of proof rests on you as you are the one who made the unproven assertion. If you do in fact mean unbelievers, then you should really specify what we're unbelieving in.
