Video Compressing?

i recently transfered a 5 minute video from my videocam to my computer and it turns out, its 1.5.GB in size... for a 5 minute video? thats too much. is there any way / program that can compress videos to a more manageable size?

Yes, looks like your video is downloaded without any compression. You can virtualdub, which is opensource video editing software.
