Epstein-Barr is a herpes virus that causes infectious mononucleosis. Is she on antibiotic? I ask this because, although antibiotics can do nothing for a virus, they must run their course, so to speak. but rather antibiotics are usually to prevent a secondary infection. Her immune system is fighting this now and if she does get sicker, it will be harder for her immune system to fight both at once. Mono symptoms are a fever, sore throat, swollen lymph glands and sometimes bruising It is NOT highly or predictably contagious In young children the disease is mild and usually unnoticed. and if she does get it. she will have permanent immunity to it. Hope I helped some. Good luck. She will do great.

It is the virus that can cause mono. Because it is a virus, antibiotics will not cure or treat it. It is a lot more common than most folks think, it is usually undiagnosed because people think they have a flu or are tired. If one`is`diagnosed wth it, docs will pay special attention and you should too, sometimes other diseases are associated with it. Just on its own, Mono sucks.
