I quit smoking and drinking. you need the serenity to accept the things you cannot change, the courage to change the things you can and the wisdom to know the difference. I took Wellbutrin to quit smoking. It is also an antidepressant. Maybe it would also help you feel better about life and not lonely. Then maybe you won't feel the need to drink as much cause you are happier with your life. Go to the doctor and tell them you want to quit smoking. They will prescribe you some Zyban or Wellbutrin. It will help. Go to some meetings if you want. They didn't do much for me, but meds did. Now I am off meds and alcohol and cigarettes. It was the smartest thing I ever did.

Well....this one really helped me with drinking, as long as its not in the house why waiste my time taking that extra trip just to get some beer. Most important if your around someone thats drinking or smoking like a friend your just going to want to drink and smoke its a social thing but if you can just avoid it while your alone by not taking that extra trip to the store and stuff and that should help out. Also get support from family and close friends
