Purchase a book by the same author and leave it on his desk.....play just a little bit of the secret admirer. One, because guys absolutely LOVE when a girl goes out of her way (girls rarely do) and two, you need be a tad careful considering you're dealing with work here. He is being reticent to a degree because of it being a work environment.... believe me, guys get screwed left and right when it comes to this kind of stuff at work. So, obviously establishing that he'd like to "like you" outside of work is appropo. Anyhow, leave a book on his desk with a note inside that have lyrics from one of the songs from the band you two saw. put them in quotes and then sign it "whatever the bands name is" and then go from there. if he doesn't get it then try another little fun thing like baking cookies and putting them on a paper plate with plastic over them and leaving them on his desk. good luck

get some tickets to something and then talk about them and say you have an extra if he'd like to see the show, make it sound casual, not like a real date, just an outing, then while you are out you can get to know each other better and see if you want to take it up another notch. squeeze his hand softly when you are seperating from him (not at work) but like when you are out anf you go to the restroom or whatever, just squeeze his hand gently and say I'll be back in a couple minutes. I want to freshen up or whatever.

I would find 4 tickets to a band concert he and you like. Tell him you have tickets for the concert, and you have 4, but only 3 people can go - would he like to go? bring another couple in case he says yes, and turns out to be trouble.) Or find a free concert, and tell him about it - see if he shows up - Be specific about where you can be found at the concert! (again, bring some friends, he could be a weirdo!) lol

ask him out to dinner, or just another concert or something, or have him over to your place for dinner. If you're afraid to do that, then ask him out to eat with you on your luch break at a cafe or something. It's casual, meaning that he won't feel nervous, but it also shows him that you're interested. Take things slow, it sounds like he is a bit tentative but i think he likes you (hooray!!!). When you've had that get-together with him, just let him know that you'd love to catch up with him again and take things from there. Be confident and assertive but let him take the lead at times too. Maybe let him ask you out once you have invited him out. Guys like to think they're in control. Good Luck!!! :)

hug him from behind then later on from the front. He'll get the hint and if he doesnt like you then just tell him you were just being friendly and that hes not your type.
