Go to the file you want to open

Right click on it and hit the PROPERTIES option (at the bottom of the menu).

Look for the option that says OPENS WITH... and hit the button that says CHANGE...

Look for Winzip in that list (if you dont see it on the list then hit the BROWSE button and go to C:\Program Files\WinZip\Winzip.exe and hit ok.).

Apply all the changes and now you should be able to open all the files with that same extension using Winzip.

Not sure I understand the question. But seems to me that you might have lost the extension assignments in your windows settings. So now when you download a zip file, it is trying to open it with paint shop pro, am I correct? If this is the case then just right click on your .zip file, then click Open With..., then click on Choose Program in the list of prgrams pick winzip and hit OK, this will change the default program for opening .zip files. But like i said I don't really understand your question entirely.

If you want to find Winzip files then you can press the "Windows" button on your keyboard, hold it then press "F" on the keyboard then you can type what you are looking for on your computer such as "paint.zip or *.zip (then sort by date)"

hope this helps

When you go to "save as" you get the option as to where you want the file saved ... just driect it to your desktop if that's where you want it
Good Luck
