We're buying a car tomorrow and I am pretty sure that we don't need it to be inspected until we go to get it registered (in 30 days). But i just want to make sure. Thanks!

We're buying it from a individual seller who's said he had it inspected recently.

To get the temp tag - go to the DMV with the title, and request a temporary tag. You do not need to take the car, or proof of inspection to do so.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think it is illegal for a dealer to sell a vehicle in MO without an inspection. But if you are buying from an individual then its up to you to get it inspected and such.
