I'm traveling one way to Switzerland next summer, and I'm going with Delta. The plane is a 767-300ER. Now I'm sure that these are rumors, but it also seems possible. I have heard that, because of the plane's old age, it does not fly as well/safe. Is this true.

Also, I know the 777 have tv's in the backs of seats, but do that 767 have TV's at all? This is around a 10 hour flight so I don't want to have nothing to watch

I don't mean one way, round trip. I meant no stops.

The 767 has one of the best safety records of any commercial aircraft. Info on its crashes:

Here's the site which shows amenities on the 300ER. There's no in-seat video in economy class.

Ten hours? That is nothing. My trip took me a total of 18 hours flight time. Although some of these 767s are about 20 years old they are regularly maintained by airlines. If this model is a trouble prone then FAA would not allow the airlines to fly them. Don;t worry about it. Just enjoy the flight and look forward to getting to your destination.

I don't know if they have TV in the head rest but if they don't then there will be common TVs situated on the aisle for you to watch. Here is something that you might find interesting.

Remember, the 767 is not necessarily old, as Boeing is still building them. However if you are flying Delta then it will probably be at least 10-15 years old. That is totally normal and safe. These planes undergo scheduled maintenance AND have a recommended age to be decommissioned. Delta has a good safety record and is the 2nd largest airline around. Have fun!

I like 767's. They have a 2-3-2 seating configuration so you're never more than one seat away from the aisle no matter where you're sitting on the plane.

The 767 is a very safe aircraft. Delta does not have tv's in the seatbacks, however there is a movie screen, so you will be able to view something.

The 763 is actually not that old of a plane... the really old ones are 762s.

But, maintained well, a plane could fly safely indefinitely. Just look at the B-52s... they'll be close to 100 years old by the time they're retired.

You'll be fine.
