Okay for the past week my top right side of my mouth has been hurting. It was the back tooth. Well today it was really swollen around the tooth...my gums. And my right side of my jaw hurt too. well I was touching my tongue around the gum of my mouth and it pooped the weird bubble around it. it was gross there was blood and some tan colored stuff. But it wasn't bleeding after I spit. My jaw doesn't hurt and the pain is gone. I think I may need a root canal my mom says maybe it is my wisdom teeth. I'm only 17. So what the heck is going on and why was it swollen and popped? Please help thanks

I have been flossing everyday. My mom has made me swish some hot salt water around today also. It is somewhat helping too.

Abcess.. Oh yeah!
Basically, your tongue popped it and the 'uaually' yellowish color was the infection. Yes, you now need to get the doctor (dentist) and have him/her xray it and get you started on antibotics. If the tooth is able to be saved, then yes.. Root Canal Treatment, is going to be needed. Then a crown, is needed. If the tooth cant be saved, then he'll pull it. They'll need an x'ray to determine how bad the infection was and if any bone loss has occured. Thats how they'll decided if it can be saved or not.

BTW... Warm salty rinses, is GOOD ADVICE! BUT.. wont stop it from coming back. It's a temp, fix.

Good Luck....

It's an abscessed tooth and you need to get to the dentist! It is not your wisdom tooth and if you don't take care of the infection, it will only get worse trust me. The dentist will put you on a round of anti-biotics and then probably do a root canal. They aren't as bad as everyone says they are, I have had 6 of them.

Sounds like an abcess. Could be from the third molar; when this don´t erupt properly, a gum flap can be formed, and it works as a trap door where bacteria and food are, well, trapped! This causes swelling, pain, bleeding and / or infection. You need to go to a dentist ASAP.

Your wisedom teeth start to come in around 17, so your mom is probably right. Bacteria can get trapped under the gum, that covers your teeth and cause an infection. You should see dentist and it may be time to have your 3rd molars extracted?

sounds like an abscess. and you need some professional care. besides salt water. real antibiotics. and a check up could be several reasons ..
your mom should not put you at risk to hope to put off the dentist visit or bill .

bad mommy.
