Because homosexuality was considered unnatural i.e. not observed in nature. In almost every religion people were told that since procreation is not possible through homosexuality, God (of any religion) cannot have meant for two people of the same sex to be together.
Today we know that homosexuality has been observed in over 400 species and is not unnatural thus must be okay with God. Therefore we can safely call for anti-homosexuality words to be if not erased at least ignored from the holy books.

Sin is sin and you call it by its proper name. It is not a sin to be gay its a sin if one engages in the sexual activity of it. That's where the impurity comes in. It is an abomination in the sight of God. You don't turn the truth upside down and call lies the truth and the truth a lie. Very often these people were abuse as youngsters and even if it seems as though it is built into nature they are called to celibacy. It is the cross they must bare for the love of God. Our job is to inform them in love, not with a club but in love to try to get them to understand and change that horrible way of living in mortal sin which cuts you off from God. Now if they do not change after being evangelized that's on there head at least you won't go to Hell for telling the truth in love. We are our brothers keeper in Christ.
Gen. 1 & 2 - we see from the beginning that the complimentarity of the sexes reflects God's inner unity and His creative power and Fatherhood. God created man and woman to become one flesh which is consummated in the act of marital love.
Gen. 2:18 – throughout the creation story, God says “it is good” seven times. But when God pointed out that man was alone, God says “it is not good.” God then created woman. Man and woman therefore belong together by God’s design, according to His natural and supernatural law.
Gen. 2:24 – God created man and woman so that they could share communion. This communion is consummated in the marital act (which must be between a man and a woman). This communion is also a reflection of the eternal communion of the Blessed Trinity, who created man in His own image and likeness.

They'll tell you that it's because it's an "abomination" (as if hate isn't an abomination) or that it's written in the bible that it's wrong. But the real reason is that they are ignorant and narrow-minded. I'm not a hater of any religions; in fact I try to love and honor people from all faiths. But the homosexuality issue with some religions is where I really cannot accept the views of my brothers and sisters. I don't think they're right in saying "God hates fags" or that it's wrong to be gay. That's like saying it's wrong to be left-handed.

In Roman Catholicism, it isn't a sin to be homosexual. It is only sinful when you act upon homosexual desires. God gives some people certain conditions, in the hopes that that person might be able to keep away from giving into to their natural urges, and listen to the supernatural part of them, which tells them to be holy. In other religions, it's a sin to be homosexual because some equate homosexual orientation/desire with homosexual acts.

Because in the old days where the religion book/scripts were written and published, people were scared to be different, I think homosexual already exist since long time ago.

Forget the religions. What does the word of God say about it? It says that it is an abomination to God. God created a woman for Adam. He took a rib out of Adam and made him a woman from it. God said be fruitful and multiply. A man and a woman was made by God to multiply. Homosx. is from the devil. He always goes against God.

Because to those u are afraid of it and don't really know how could be possible, started saying it was a Sin. They use the bible to defend their answer even though it homophobic people wrote it
