I heard that if you play your newborn songs by Metallica and Rob Zombie and stuff, she'll want to play guitar when she grows up and it will be easy for her? That would be really cool to have a rock star daughter. DO you believe in this theory?

Sounds a little far fetched. When my wife was pregnant with our first child, she couldn't come to band practice. When the drummer started playing, the kid would start kicking so hard you could see it through her clothes. She's 7 yrs old now and loves the drums. She can keep a few simple beats. However, I don't know if it's all related.

No.

If you want your child to play the guitar, then it helps for her to see someone playing the guitar. Also, most heavy metal guitarists have had classical guitar training and decided to cash in on their talent by playing in rock bands that showcase the guitar player (heavy metal). However, they can actually play all types of guitar including classical. If you want your daughter to be a rock star, then you should get her into classical guitar lessons when she is about 5.

I have 2 kids. This isn't true. They may enjoy hearing the music (something soft, like classical or a lullaby), but it doesn't mean that their going to turn into Mozart when they grow up.

Of course not. That sounds like attempted brainwashing anyway. Let the child become what she wants to be when she grows up.
