When I was 12, I wanted to hang out with the "cool" older kids. I was rebellious at the time and was getting in trouble a lot. I met a guy who was supposedly the leader of this "gang" and he was 21 years old. We hung out a few times, I even called him my boyfriend. One afternoon we agreed that he would pick me up from school (my middle school) and we'd go hang out at one of his friends' house. We hung out for a little while, then he asked me to come into the bedroom. He took off my pants, he took off his and he began having sex with me. I didn't say no, I didn't know what to do. He finished and I was confused. I was a virgin. We hung out again and the same thing happened, except that I was on my period. Again, I didn't say no. When it happened, my body was still, like I couldn't move until he was done. I know by definition this would be considered statutory rape. But now, I'm 24 and I still feel disgusting. Was this rape?

I guess in my rational mind I doubt myself, but emotionally I truly feel scarred.

Rape definitions change from one state to another. One of the most common is "penetration by force..." Each state defines different levels of "force." Sometimes it's just enough force for penetration, sometimes it means some level of "force" by the perp against the victim (either psychological or physical).

This is why statutory rape laws exist -- it's because a 12 year old can't "consent" to sex... you had no idea what was going on.
The problem is that this occurred 12 years ago. There may or may not be a statute of limitations. I would suggest that you go to counseling, which a good therapist who will help you sort out your legal and personal issues.

Yes, it was. Actually in Louisiana it falls under Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. I have to ask why a 21 year old man would be hanging out with a 12 year old girl? Sounds like a sexual predator and pedophile.

Unfortunately, you cannot persue legal actions because rape cases only have a statute of limitations of 5 years. But regardless, i think without a doubt you were raped. You were too young to know any better. I think you should seek some counseling to work your way through your feelings. He was completely in the wrong, and you shouldn't blame yourself for what went down.

In some countries having sex with a person below 16 years age is considered Rape and in your case it is certainly Rape and though u havent said No, it dosent mean u were ready for it.
Being elder in age he should not have done it.

Yes it was, consent is not an option at 12. Considering he was 21 you could have begged him to have sex with you and it would still be illegal. Being as it was 12 years ago I don't think you have much recourse but, You should at least look into it.

yes it is rape, you never gave consent, just because you could not or did not say yes or no and because of the age difference you could not of "lawfully give consent". In addition if your state says the legal age of consent is 16, 18 what ever, then it is statutory rape if it occurred before the States age of consent.

It was not consensual and by law is rape. But then again, maybe you said yes and was all for it. The woman can take any man they had sex with and call it rape anytime they want to and win. So don't pretend to feel bad about it. Unless it wan't consented, then you ahould find him and castrate.

In your case, it was 100% rape. Even if you had said "Yes" hundreds of times, it would still be rape because you were only 12.
