Was it rape?

When I was 12, I wanted to hang out with the "cool" older kids. I was rebellious at the time and was getting in trouble a lot. I met a guy who was supposedly the leader of this "gang" and he was 21 years old. We hung out a few times, I even called him my boyfriend. One afternoon we agreed that he would pick me up from school (my middle school) and we'd go hang out at one of his friends' house. We hung out for a little while, then he asked me to come into the bedroom. He took off my pants, he took off his and he began having sex with me. I didn't say no, I didn't know what to do. He finished and I was confused. I was a virgin. We hung out again and the same thing happened, except that I was on my period. Again, I didn't say no. When it happened, my body was still, like I couldn't move until he was done. I know by definition this would be considered statutory rape. But now, I'm 24 and I still feel disgusting. Was this rape?

I didn't tell my mom and dad bc I was getting into a lot of trouble back then and if I was second guessing myself, then I thought for sure they would too.

I feel like I don't have a right to feel this way bc I didn't say no

i mean rape is considered wen the woman says "no".....if u didnt say no then he continued his way.....but i think that YES u can call it rape bcuz u were underage and he was the adoult in that situation.

Yes, he was a responsible (or so called) adult and knowingly had sex with a minor child.

You were 12 and had not the sense to say no. Even if you did want to. Also, you could have been paralyzed out of fear, but don't quite remember it.

Anyone under 16 has not the mindset to determine the best for their sexual being. That is why it is rape. Even though it may not have been violent.

There are cases of incest that are not violent and that is still a crime. Same thing. Also, there are cases of incest where the child was even enjoying it because of the feeling. That does not mean it was the child's fault or that the child made the decision.

12 yrs old is a child. You have no responsibility for what happened to you and you had no real say so. Think about what if you did try to say no. Do you think this man would have listened? Probably not.

Statutory rape, yes. But why would you go with him again the second time, and not tell your mom/dad about the first time so he could be arrested? You didn`t mind your mom/dad and unfortunately things like this happen to little girls that don`t. You are 24 years old now. Yes it was rape, You should not feel disgusted, or mad at yourself, you were a child. I would strongly suggest speaking to a councilor to help you thru this. As far as the legal question in the state of Ohio that would be rape. Anyone under the age of 13 is not able to legally make that choice. Actuator rape is anyone over 13 but under 16, the legal age of consent in Ohio is 18

In some countries having sex with a person below 16 years age is considered Rape and in your case it is certainly Rape and though u havent said No, it dosent mean u were ready for it.
Being elder in age he should not have done it.

ok then my story, i was 16 and my gf 14, wat da ya think maybe for first time i would like to try but guess wat everytime we met she need it wants it,. so considering me rape by a girl which is 14? as for your case maybe after 12 years he could already be in jail for other crimes
