I had an accident today, and I hit another car, but I am almost 100 percent sure, my light was still green, the guy was turning and we colided, we were both going kinda slow so it wasnt too to bad, it was just the impact because my car was alot heavier than his. So my first clue that im not at fault is that the guy just sat there, didnt talk to me just kinda stared into nothing ness, my second is when i talked to the officer that came, i told him my story and he said there was a witness that agreed, but like he didnt make it to clear as to with whom, I figured it was with me because if not he might have said, well unfortunatly for you i have a witness that says the opposite. I didnt get a ticket, but i dont know if you get one right at the accident sight, a few hrs ago i was so sure my light was green but now im a nervous wreck and i think im over analyazing. What do you all think? Thank you

You didn't get a ticket, you would have received one at the sight of the accident. You are in the "green" and overanalyzing.

Most officers will give you a citation for 'failure to yield' if you disregard a traffic signal. So, it sounds like you are okay.

However, you should call your insurance company right away. Since there is a police report, they will find out about this accident anyway. The sooner you talk to them and give them your side of the story, the sooner they can defend you from the other driver.

What everyone has said is correct, except, if the other guy did not receive a citation either, than his insurance will argue the point. It may come down to a lawyer, even if the police report says he is guilty.

I hope it doesn't go that way for you.

I know in Ohio, if your not sited a traffic violation at the scene, you won't be down the road. You'll be OK, just hope the other guys insurance doesn't drag there feet on it, your insurance rep can find out for you if he was sited for anything.

If I'm knowledge this correct it sounds such as you have been pulling out of a carpark to show left onto a freeway. The freeway is four lanes on all sides. The two lanes of site visitors closest to you, heading the reverse manner of the way in which you have been turning stopped to help you pull out in entrance of them to show. The girl that hit you used to be visiting within the third lane over (out of the four lanes that you just have been crossing in entrance of to show)? If that is the case than you're at fault. The girl that hit you had the correct of manner. Even even though the two lanes of site visitors have been waving you on, you continue to didn't have the correct of manner. It does not topic that her brakes have been going out. I have labored as an coverage agent for the beyond nine.five years & I have noticeable a number of injuries similar to this one. In they all, the character that used to be pulling out in entrance of site visitors to show left used to be deemed at fault. Hope this is helping.
