I'm not that smart... 3.5 GPA. Is that smart?

I think that most Asian people naturally do better than other groups because they are taught from birth to be better and work harder than others. It's part of their culture to want to succeed. As for being naturally smarter, I don't think that's true. It's just a matter of living up to your god-given potential.

It's just one of those stereotypes like why do mexican people drive fixed up buicks?

All in all, you should be glad they think you're smart. You have a higher GPA than I do! I hope you're proud of that. :-) And it's natural that people assume, judge or stereotype, it's just nature and people can't help it. Even I and the guy next door!

People think Chinese people are smart because the majority of Chinese that come to the United States are very smart and come here on school visas. Basically, out of the Chinese population in China, only the smart ones are coming here. Becasue of this, people think that all Chinese are insanely smart. All the ones that aren't smart are left in China.

That's because they have school virtually year round
3.5? Good job! Thats a great gpa. Mines about a 2.9 right now but by the end of the semester I should have more like a 3.2
