You could separate the two with a very nice privacy screen with grapevine or a small wetbar or tall bartable for guests. Use bright colors for accents and accessories as well as some greenery. It's hard to say without seeing it.
There are lots of tips here:

Entertaining is such fun. First and formost, where do you want your guests to gather? I would make that area the most inviting. Candles, food and music should be in one room where YOU want your guests. If you have friends over and you can't keep them out of the kitchen, put them to work. (They WANT to help. They are your friends and they came to see you, not your house.) Plan ahead and have "stations" for them. ie: cheese and cracker duty, open the wine duty, etc. If you are having a formal party, keep them out of the kitchen by all means. This takes alot of planning to have all things prepared to keep you out of the kitchen as well. A flowing curtain perhaps to separate rooms perhaps. (A shower curtain rod will hold just about anything in a pinch and is easily installed and removed!) But my biggest tip for cozy entertaining is candles, candles, candles,
Good luck and have fun!!

you need a division between the areas. Depending on your tastes. You can use hippy beads, etc. sheers tied back. tall book shelves against the walls forming a doorway. Place a small island at the point to divide. be sure to add wall decorations from family pictures to garage sale items. If you have room place and old straight backed kitchen chair in the kitchen, inviting company to sit.

It's either Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel that has the neatest bookcases that separate a room really well. You can use them for small decorations (so you can see through them - they are open backed), or use them for big ones (for more privacy in the kitchen). Good luck!

it somewhat is a competent type for human beings to compliment between. i does no longer sense such as you're being grasping. My very own adventure with a registry, is human beings only offered in spite of they needed me to have...even when I had a itemizing of in-costly products. i'm constructive all of them meant properly, and there presents have been super, yet my husband and that i nonetheless ended up paying for maximum the stuff we mandatory. That replaced into high-quality as properly, I propose it is our interest to grant for our toddler. i'm at present 25 weeks pregnant, and not signing up for a registry this time, in line with probability gets what we want, LOL. besides, you probably did no longer ask for a private novel, so i will renounce right here. stable success with each thing.

You can buy portable bars or islands that belong in a kitchen. They are fairly inexpensive. Place that in between the two areas.
Plants would make it "homier". And valances and blinds for the windows.

Islands are nice. And you can get one at a decent price. They work great to seperate rooms. OR a bar.
