Hello. My daughter is due this month and me and my hubby want a UNIQUE name, so we've narrowed it down to 3. Please tell me what u think bout each of the 3, and which one u would choose for your girl. Thanx. XOXO

Jeffinda (half of my hubby's name [Jeffery] and half of my name [Linda])

or

O.C. (because we both love the tv show The OC)

or

Valedictorian (we think it’s a cute name that can have many nick-names like Val, tory, ally, etc)

uhh....
a) dont combine names.
b) naming a child after a television show....*raises eyebrows*
c) valedictorian? thats the top person with the best grades in high school/college. not a good name for someone.

if you go for unique, not many people have the name Ocean...(not my type of good name, but it works)
try Babynames.com

ive always liked the name Chole (pronounced coal) or Corinn.

good luck, but i can honestly say if i was your kid i'd hate my name if you picked one of those three.

This is a HUMAN BEING you are naming. Someone that will have to live with this name for the next 80 years. Do NOT do that to a child.

Out of all the choices, Jeffinda, though horrible in it's own right, is the closest to a real name.

If you are leaning toward O.C., why not name her something like Ophelia Christine, or Olivia Catherine... something with the initials. You still get to call her what you want, but she has another choice when dealing with people outside her home.

Well I don't give out my favorite names but I'll tell you what they mean to me. The first name I'll use, let's say *Blank* Is a name that I think is adorable, cute and girly. Also very old fashion which I love and not popular but not unheard of. My husband also loves the name and that was somethign that was a plus. It's also sorta a little game that my dad use to say to me when I was very little and it holds a special memoir in it over that. Almost like naming her after my dad a bit. The middle name will be after my very favorite Saint. (I'm tradional Catholic) Second choice name will be something that makes me think of old fashion yet again and just has a lovely elegant sound to it. Something that is rare but everyone knows. Middle name will be Mary after the Blessed mother, plus I think it flows well with the first. My other names I have lined up will be decided between which my husbands likes the most out of my choices most likely. Followed by Saint names for the middle. Boys is easy. My husband decides mostly on the boy names and the first one (My idea that he liked) is to make him a junior. Because I love my husbands name! Then after that it's up to hubby. Good questions. A star for you!

I would have to choose none of the above. Jeffinda would end up being shortened to Jeff and that's too masculine for a girl, O.C. isn't a name it's initials and valedictorian is a word not a name. Good luck finding a name. How about Mirabelle, Alaina, Arianna or Brianna? There are websites with tons of names to choose from. Good luck. In the end it's up to you but please don't give your baby girl a name that is so different that all the other kids tease her.

What about Olivia Claire and then use OC as a nickname possibly? You have to think about 21 years from now when she is trying to make it in the "real world". How about your's and your husband's middle names? Could you somehow use that other than Jeffinda? I think your intentions are good, but your names not so much. But hey, it's your child.

Sweet Gal,
the names you've both chosen, quite honestly, border on the edges of oddity. I ask that you reconsider.

If you really want to combine both your names, how about 'Linffrey' or its variations?

If you like the show, why not name your kid after one of the characters, or actresses? Mischa or Samaire are pretty unique names in their own rights.

Uhh, this next one you'll have to work it out among yourself.

Believe me, there's nothing cool about having a strange name or a name no one can get right.

Goodluck.

Are you crazy!? Jeffinda!? OC!? You might as well name her after the sound that a spaceship makes during lift off.

Did you know what the spell check thinks OC is a spelling mistake? Spell check thinks you mean OX!

Even though you love the show O.C. Some people will think about the drug Oxycontin cause they do call that drug OC for short.

I would go with Jeffinda
