When shampooing its best to use warm water and then when conditioning you should blast your hair with cold water to rinse the conditioner out, Doing this will close the hair follicles which will lock in moisture and shine !

Well i would be better to use water that's not too hot and not too cold, but if we were to pick from one i think cold would be better because hot water can cause little pimples or bumps in your scalp. Its also important to dry your hair well to prevent dandruff.

Since most of us finish up with a hair dryer, which really heats up the hair, using cold water is useless, don't you think?
I'd say pick a temperature that's comfortable for you.

I dye my hair and my colorist says never wash or rinse with HOT water
it removes the color faster

techincally speking cold water is good. with hot water your hail loss will be more compare to cold water.
