No, it's not illegal and no there is no specific age. I think most people should wait until they're over 18 though. From the aspect of pregnancy (and although rare, it can happen on birth control) hardly anyone under 18 is ready emotionally and financially to raise a child, so I think if you're going to be participating in the activity that makes them you should be the appropriate age. I'm not gonna say "you have to wait until marriage" (even though I'd strongly recommend it) because some people don't believe in that, but I do feel that one should be over 18 and at least in a relationship with the person they're going to have sex with before they start.

Are you interested in a magic number? There are none. You should be in a committed long term relationship, not just having sex to say you are not a virgin. You should be in love.
If you think you and your boy friend are ready to have sex, go to planned parenthood together. You need to be responsible with your actions. You definitely do not want to become pregnant until you are married. It is a hard road to be a single mom, and even a harder road to be a single teen mom.
Way to go asking questions and seeking advise. Ask more to make good choices.
For the people who are saying to wait till you get married, reality is there are hardly ever people who remain a virgin when getting married. Don't be scared to talk about sex. There is nothing wrong with it. Its not dirty and shame full. It is a wonderful experience if shared with the one you love. I would hope you are over 17 to make such an important decision.

It isn't illegal if your partner is younger than 18 and you are both older than 16 (or the age of consent in your state, which could be as young as 14). The best age is probably when you've reached emotional maturity 17-22.

No not at all I think that the best time to loose your virginity is when you feel it is right regardless of what anyone else says. I mean if you feel that it is the right time then go ahead but just be careful and don't do something that you would regret. The only thing is don't drink when you are about to loose it. Not trying to run your life or anything just suggesting but yeah like i said when you feel that it is the right time for you to loose it then go ahead! Good luck
and after all it's your life and don't feel bad for what anyone thinks people think differently.Ans also just cause you have sex does not mean that you are dirty or anything just use protection

Some states, I'm not sure whether it's all, is illegal for a person to have sex under the age of 16. I think 16+ is OK to start having sex....
