Since food (an apple) was the beginning of the downfall of man. It does not surprise me there are so many over weight people in this day and age. The world has grown more evil as time goes on. Just like expanding waist lines. Does anyone know how many times the word food is mentioned in the Bible. What are other words used instead of food? Is a person who is over weight considered gluttonous? When is an eating disorder considered an addiction? And not gluttony?

I think you asked 4 questions here, or is it 5?
All I can say is, it wasn't apples that made people fat. It wasn't any God-given whole foods that made people fat. It's MAN made "foods" that are addictive and fattening. Sugar cane is full of fiber and vitamins, whole milk is healthy, whole grains are healthy, it's only when man takes parts of foods and combines with other parts of foods, like the pure sugar, the cream (butter) off the milk, the starchy part of the grain and puts it together (dough) and fries it in part of an animal (the fat of a hog, lard)..... that's where fattening and addictive things like donuts become unhealthy. Our bodies are craving the MISSING parts and we mistakenly overeat the same wrong things..... and become gluttons.

Another myth--where in the bible does it say the fruit from the tree of life (also referenced as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil) was an apple? It doesn't; that is a fairly new myth that people have made up.

The past 100 years is probably the first time in history that the majority of the population has had enough to eat. In the West, food is in abundance, and cheap, and processing with high fructose corn syrup has caused a tremendous increase in obesity.

Well...it wasn't necessarily an apple, but that's not the point, so I won't bother arguing it.

It's true that food's a big downfall. I struggle with my weight, and with craving sweets and reaching for candy when I should eat a carrot. It's tough, and some of it can be due to gluttony. Others, though, simply have health problems (or have born children), and simply don't have a body that sheds the weight easily.

Not all overweight people are gluttons.

Many people are overweight because of all the crap that is put in food to preserve it. That and the fact that hardly anyone is out doing any real hard labor, like farm work. It's hard to lose weight when most people sit at a computer 12 hours for work and eat only one big meal a day. I don't think it has anything whatsoever to do with gluttonous. I would say many people who are overweight actually eat less than "healthy" slim people. They just eat the wrong things at the wrong time. So we shouldn't look at someone that is fat and say, wow, that person must stuff themselves 24/7 because I don't think that is the case at all. it has more to do with body chemistry and metabolism than anything else.

Was not an apple.Apples did not exist in that part of the world.More likely it was a pomegranate. And the sin was not the consumption of food,it was eating of the Tree of Knowledge.Adam and Eve were tossed out before they could eat of the Tree of Life and become as one of the Immortals.Ignorance is bliss? They had no idea of nakedness until eating of Tree of Knowledge.

Carefull, the Bible doesnt actually say it was an apple. It also doesn't say man fell thats just what some folks believe . As for obesity the problem isn't Evil. It's margarine.

Food is necessary for leaving. However, just like everything else, too much of it will be harmful.
With that said, I don't believe the forbidden fruit was an apple. I think it was sex. Remember that the eating act was related to their nakedness. The Snake (Devil) was their conscience that portrays the duality of desire/inquisitiveness on one hand and guilt/self-judgment on the other.

No one has any idea what the tree was nor how the fruit looked on that tree. No tree caused the downfall of man. Nowhere is it even hinted in the Bible that this is the case.

The Adam & Eve story is written so only mature people can understand it, it's a story about sex, Eve's body is the garden of fruit......Most people are fat because; there are hidden chemicals put into food to cause addiction. The bigger the name brand, the more chemicals you eat. I don't judge fat people, I teach them.

The world is contenting both sin and holly. To take out the sin is already sin. The holly land is holly need not to clean or refine. The hollyland is your heart. Take out yourself, the whole world is beautiful.
