I'm looking to make some back up copies of some of my DVD's that I own and have paid for. Some are scratching and I've lost some or broke some and my friend has back ups. I have a DVD burner on my computer I just need to know where I can find some downloadable software. Preferably easy to work programs.

Thanks. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have been using a few of these to backup my kids disney videos... There is a software called dvd43 that you can download that will decrypt dvds for other burning software. There is also a software called dvdshrink which works in conjunction with nero. One of these should work.

dvd shrink free and easy to use
you can cut out menus and edait movies
if removes the macro-vision protection so you can copy it
i must warn you that the motion picture and fbi are craking down and enforcing thier laws. thier movies are worth more than your life. ohh! there is a new copy protection out by sony but -dvdfab handles it. copy as is to hd then edit. and if you are a fed, do your own foot work, or pay me and i,ll do your job, so you can sittting in your office with clean hands and nice suits,

DVDfab is a great program. it may not be free but it works with css and drm content for solid backups of your dvd collection.
