1. strip down to naked.
2. let the bacon cook in it's own grease, probably will taste better that way.
3. try to avoid burns.

Ever tried baking it in the oven? I use a large rectangular cake pan and lay the bacon out evenly. I put it in a preheated (or not) 350 degree oven and just keep an eye on it, turning it if you wish. I learned this trick when I was nursing at a convalescent home by the cook who had been doing it that way for years. It's great, because it really doesn't pop everywhere, so it's not so hard to clean up and it cooks much quicker, without the drying effects you can get from microwaving. I can say, however, that I've never ever had to add any oil to bacon! It produces plenty of fat all by itself! Goodness, this question/answer made me hungry...anyone for a good ole BLT?

First of all it isn't how you're cooking the bacon but the quality of the bacon you're cooking. Cheap, thin, mass produced bacon rarely has good flavor. Spend a little extra and get a thick cut bacon or buy it from the deli section of your supermarket.
Put a little cooking oil in a cast iron skillet if you have one. Cut bacon slab in half and layer in the pan. Let it cook slow and stir and turn occasionally as it browns. It will crisp up right before it's done. Drain on paper towel on a plate.

What type or brand of bacon do you use? Many years making and cooking bacon tells me you are not using a brand that give the flavor you are seeking. Are you using low salt, low sugar, smoked, peppered or what? I make my in the oven on a wire rack to get a nice crispy bacon.

Don't use oil, bacon fat renders out all on its own when you cook it. Cook it on a cast iron griddle over low heat (takes about 30 minutes). It gets good and crispy, and the flavour is amazing.
Make sure you are using a good brand of bacon.

I never use oil - the bacon makes its own grease as it fries -
but I do not fry bacon anymore - I have found that cooking in the oven is just as tastey - and less mess!

My mom told me the perfect way and you dont get popped by grease. Seperate the pieces of bacon and twist them around and place them on a broiler pan in the oven and broil it on 350. Keep an eye on it and you will tell when it is getting done. I left mine in for about 13-15 minutes but taste vary.

You need to use a medium-low heat and don't turn it over until it becomes almost transparent. Also thick sliced bacon has more flavor than regular.

bacon makes its own oil, so u don't need to add oil.
just put it in a skillet let it brown to your liking turn over do the same thing. and you have tasty bacon.
you might want to play with different brands to see which one you like the best.

I take a cold iron skillet, place the bacon in pan; turn heat on & fry it. w/o veggie oil- it makes it's own grease-which can be used in cornbread & veggies.
