Whatever they earn... they dont send back to Mexico or wherever, but keep it in the USA and spend it to stimulate the economy even further.

They stop waving that flag of theirs without the US flag and they stop disrespecting it.

They get their illegal selves legalized and they pay certain extra conditions like 4-8 years military service or 20% increased taxes for 8-15 years (the time it would take them to be citizens the legal way).

They stop supporting La Raza or any of those remotely racist pro-Hispanic groups.

(before you attack me, I'd like to say that I am not nor will I ever be pro-illegal, but I've always wanted to play devil's advocate).

No!
illegal is still - illegal.
Even if amnesty is granted, many will not accept the fact they were first criminals who broke our laws, and were rewarded.

First - I simply don't find "illegals" objectionable (I'm presuming you mean Mexican illegal immigrants as you mention La Raza and sending money to Mexico). As to your suggestions:
1) If they didn't send their money back to Mexico, more would simply come here, and/or the U.S. would be sending more aid to Mexico, so for me that issue is a non-issue. 2) I would never ask them to stop waving their flag - would you ask a Polish-American to stop caring about his/her flag, or an Irish-American, or an any-other-American? 3) Most illegal aliens would LOVE to be legal, in my experience (I was born and raised in Texas, so I have a little experience with the subject); I think all citizens should do some sort of service for the country, either military or something in the way of civillian service. I don't see that overburdening them with taxes would help anybody, especially as they generally make far less than the minimum wage in the first place. 4) I would never tell them what party to support; maybe you don't remember the time before La Raza had some power, but I do, and people got away (sometimes literally) with murder, and certainly with many cruelties to Mexican immigrants, legal and illegal. Telling ANYBODY what to believe, how to vote, who to support, etc., is utterly contrary to the entire foundation of America, and I could never support that. Finally, just so there's no confusion - I'm not Hispanic; my family has lived in Texas since the early 1800s, and I even have a distant relative who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. I simply think people should be treated like human beings, and not treated badly because they come from a specific place, or have the desire to better their lives. My family came from other countries (with the exception of a few branches of the family tree that are Native American, which also gives me some right to say who comes in), and unless you're 100% Native American, your ancestors did too. I have no sympathy for people whose families got here, made a good life, and then want to slam the door in the faces of people who want the same thing.

Those would be good places to start, I think the border fence should go ahead regardless, if Mexico's complaining about something America's doing, it must be beneficial...there really is A Problem and the GOP sat on it for way too long...

As far as people wanting to emigrate legally and become american citizens, I think dropping stuff like La Raza would be a GREAT place to start...

As far as money goes, I think we should have a no-bullshit foreign aid program to help Mexico, kind of the same 'help' dad gave you when you didn't get out of bed in time...and maybe start getting em to pay at least symbolic damages for the negative impact that 20 years of illegal immigration from their country to ours has had on some of our communites.

'one flag'....the communists can take their 'multiculturalism', and begone....

No. The best solution is Deport them and let them come back legally and we'll need the military to do that!

La Raza is equal to Hezbollah.

The illegal aliens have a mind-set to take back the United "Steaks", that they claim we stole from them.

We'd have as much chance to change the illegal aliens minds as we do changing Hezbollah's minds.
They have a mind-set for World Domination!

Go ahead put them in the military and our soldiers will probably be hit by friendly fire!

As of Oct 09, 2006

2,746 of our troops have now been killed in Iraq, 20,687
of our troops have been wounded, 9,352 of those troops so seriously wounded they can't return to duty.

Jobs illegal aliens won't do:

ARMY
NAVY
AIR FORCE
MARINES

Why because they’re ignorant! 70% of all illegal aliens have less than a 6th grade education.

Even the anchor babies are no good to help fight the war, 50% of all immigrant high school student will drop out according to statistics. According to CNN there are some illegal aliens in the Iraq war. In 2005 the New York Times reported, 29 illegal aliens had died in the war.

These illegal alien patriots stole someone else’s Identification and Social Security numbers to joined the Army. Identity theft is a CRIME!

While America’s men and women are in Iraq and other countries dying and getting wounded and risking there lives for their country.

Illegal aliens are sitting on there couches watching ETHNIC T.V. and drinking Coronas and guzzling Tequila.

Illegal aliens are getting their housing and medical paid for while collecting food stamps and medicare and welfare while they’re working under the table.

Thanks to their fertile girl friends they increase their incomes yearly by popping out babies like a human Pez dispenser, to suck up the education money!

That would take the fire out of the belly of most Americans. It would, however, keep the flow of illegals into the country until we were a Mexican nation, certainly in the southwest. There is something unsavory about what those of us who are citizens have had to eat to avoid saying negative things about the People from Mexico. They are not the problem. This is all about money and there isn't anything in it for we citizens or the vast majority of the illegals.
Good thinking and good choices.

Less objectionable...No, they still came here illegally and I object to that, regardless.

More tolerable, Yes...their anti-patriotic behavior really strikes a nerve with most.

RE: LA RAZA Pro-immigrants complain all of the time about our Minute Men and how they should be outlawed. Why do they not complain about these anti-American groups who want to take over the United States. Don't they know that if Mexicans over throw American government then they will run our country the same way they run theirs. Last time I checked they weren't doing a very good job with their own...

Man, hombre, where do you get your information. Mexican Nationals DO NOT support La Raza. American Hispanics and Mexican Nationals are not in league with each other. They do not communicate with each other. They do not support each other. The Mexican Nationals think that the American Hispanics are traitors to Mexico who sold old and remained in the U.S. back when they had a chance to choose. American Hispanics don't care for Mexican Nationals because they're always being lumped in with these people who come here with no - I repeat NO education whatsoever - and then drop out of school since they're in the 8th grade age or whatever and AMERICAN HISPANICS GET BLAMED FOR DROPPING OUT OF SCHOOL when it's the MEXICAN NATIONALs who are dropping out. Even though there may be a common lineage, most young American Hispanics do not speak Spanish or very little, so there is no communication, no cammaraderie. And in elections, you'll find Hispanics voting against more lenient immigration.

Will everyone please quit lumping American Hispanics with foreigners??

It takes 2-5 yrs to become a citizen currently.

Those are some good ideas, however they should be allowed to send money back. They are here for that reason.

My problem with them is that they came here illegally in the first place, then stayed here all the time knowing they were committing a crime, and now expect everything to be ok.

I don't have a problem with giving them a chance to become legal, but also making them pay for their crime. That tax thing is a good idea.

The flag is another good idea.

No one should be in racists groups or support them. (of any race)

I am anti illegal. But I am willing to give them a chance if they want to do things the right way. If they are here to work for a while so that they can go back there and not have to work, then I am not for that either. If they are really here to make a better life for themselves, then I am all for that, but we should not have to learn spanish for them (or whatever language they may speak), they should learn english to live here.

The reason illegals are objectionable to you is that you are racist against Mexicans as are a great many Americans. There is nothing they can do to justify their presence in this country. They say they are here to do the jobs that Americans won't do, the truth is that they are here to do the jobs Americans would do but the employers hiring them don't want to pay minimum wage to people qualified to get the jobs. The military service is the only way they should be allowed to work in this country, but then I doubt that they would be loyal to the U.S. It's really funny but nobody worries about the Canadian border. I'm usually a liberal but I confess I'm ready to see the government deport 12 million of them regardless to how long they have lived here. I also feel that children of illegal parents should not be given citizenship because their parents were here illegally.
I wish I could welcome them but I find it annoying. I don't want to listen to Spanish language television stations in the United States. In a time of crisis, I want to know who I can trust. If a person is here illegally, I don't trust them. Sorry that's the way I feel.

To some but not all.
True peace is not merely the absence of the objectionable : it is the presence of true justice being given.

We become just by doing just acts, not by breaking them. Do not believe that possibly you can escape the consequence of your action. If a crime was committed-justice not reward should be given. That is only right-if you have full knowledge of what you were doing was wrong.
In the case of immigration-there is a right way and a wrong way of entry. Until those rules are changed--people are accountable to them. Some will still feel even with your ideas-that a wrong was given a free pass.

I think spending money in our country is a great thing. How sad that one must move to the U.S., just to send money home to feed the kids!

I think flag-waving is okay. It represents a sort of pride for one's country, whatever country that may be. I don't see anyone burning the U.S. flag.

I think that all "illegals" should be subject to all the same privileges and conditions that any citizen abides by (or should). Military service is, at this time, voluntary, and so the same rule should apply to "illegals" who are attempting to get legal status.

The good thing about the U.S., is the freedom of speech and the right to assemble. If "illegals" want to support LaRaza or the Easter bunny, they should be allowed, as long as it is done in a peaceful way.

Playing the devil's advocate is the only way to bring about change toward a better good. Great question!
