First of all if you are newly sober stay out of bars and clubs. Second of all women always respond to confidence. If you're in a club and appear desperate to bring a girl home it shows and its a turn off. If you just want to meet someone to hook up with try myspace. There you'll find 100's of tramps all with slutty pics on their websites just waiting for a hookup. I'm not saying all myspace girlz are tramps but there are enough of them to keep any guy from getting bored. So set up a page and upload some cute pics and just wait for the hookers. You might find a hoe you can make a housewife.

I think you should have stuck to your not drinking. I would rather find a guy who is in control of his faculties and doesn't smell like booze, than some guy sucking on a bottle eyeing every woman in the bar. I personally do not go to bars. I want to find a man based on better characteristics. If you want to find someone to live your life with then no a bar is not the place. If you are looking to get laid, wait until right before they shut the bar down and you will probably find someone drunk and desperate. Remember, you don't want to seem desperate, you want to come across as being comfortable in your own skin.

Wouldn't it be better if you chose another place to meet women? Why do you want to take someone home with you anyway? Not that meeting someone in a bar is bad. I know many people in relationships that met at a bar. I just can't see how you would be able to get quality conversation and really get to know someone. Good job on the sobriety ! I LOVE YOUR DOGGIE !!!

Maybe you are aiming to high and need to lower your expectations. Maybe your sobriety is not letting you lower your standards. Or, you might just be coming off as desperate. Don't go in with the idea of trying to "take someone home with you". Start with getting a number first. Maybe you should try elsewhere. Bars are not the best place to be sober.

Nobody is perfect. I'm not into the bar/club scene. Noisy, too crowded and everyone is looking for a quick fix. Try joining a club or something and meet people that way.
However, if you are looking for a quick fix then continue hanging at bars etc. You can't be that bad

I think it is just nasty meeting someone at a bar or club and taking them home. No telling what people have these days. Why don't you try getting her number and talking for a while??? Asking for a girls number would probably be easier than asking her to go home with you, anyway.

Your question is not clear...saing "I can't take someone home with me" sounds like you are unable to make yourself do so...
...or are you asking why no one wants to go home with you?
If it's the former, then don't worry about it and do what you feel is best and right for you...
If its the latter, give it time...but I really don't think picking up a promiscuous chick in a bar will make you feel much better (at least not in the long run)...do use protection...

Join a dating agency, there is not so much stigma attached to them anymore because people understand today that people are busy and that you can rarely find someone in a bar or club anymore.
Seriously, there are tons of them out there and even by chosing which agency you want to go with you are ina way chosing the type of person you want to date. ie e-harmony for a more serious relationship and there are others more for flirting and casual realtionships.
Good Luck.

Maybe you are waiting for that certain someone special. That is not a bad thing you know.
Why don't you try asking someone out on a date, first. Later, you can decide if you want to take someone home with you. Really get to know someone before you take them home. Once you know someone well, you will feel more at ease about sharing your personal space with them!
GREAT JOB on the sobriety! My father has been sober for 21 years and its GREAT. I am so proud of him! You should be very proud of yourself as well!

If you gave up drinking then why in the world would you want to pick up someone from a bar....haven't you learned your lesson yet...I think you may need to reconsider your place of picking up women when you establish what type of woman that you would like to have a relationship with...
