To be honest with you, you would have better luck experiencing what the Air Force would be like if you found a local Civil Air Patrol Squadron. High School ROTC is a joke you really won't be looked at seriously for anything to do with ROTC until you get to college. Civil Air Patrol is the auxiliary of the Air Force, and will give you more of a benefit than ROTC. When you become an officer in C.A.P. if you keep up with the certificates they can get you a promotion if you decide to just enlist. ROTC you would have to complete the program with a high GPA and a letter from the commander before it would get you anything. C.A.P. will teach you the proper drill and ceremonies for the Air Force. If you decide to go to the Air Force Academy then you have a huge advantage with C.A.P. than you would have with ROTC. The commanders of C.A.P. can get you more help getting into the Air Force Academy because they know their way through the procedures better than most ROTC outside of AFROTC. Since You are only 14 you would definitely benefit more from C.A.P. than ROTC. I had experiences with both, C.A.P. got me the better deal with the Air Force.
I am also an Air Force brat, I also wanted to be in the military at a young age. I am now in, and I am having a blast. If this is something you really want to do, I encourage you to do it. If you can find a decent CAP unit or AFROTC, that will help you more than you can imagine.

I took 4 years of ROTC in High School and could have went into the Army as an officer if I had chose to. It's great for young kids to experience ROTC. It teaches discipline and respect. It can be fun and enjoyable also. I come from a military family. My dad is a Vietnam Vet, and my brother was in Desert Storm. I think if it's something that you are serious about then go for it. It will create a great future for you. Good luck!!!

Yes indeed. The whole idea of the program is to train college students to become officers in the military. If you go to one of the service academies, i.e West Point, Annapolis then you would not need ROTC for obvious reasons.
BTW I am a veteran myself (army) and I am glad that you are interested in joining up for your country at such a young age. If you go one day I wish ya luck!!

No it is not appropriate what college you bypass to for AFROTC or what you learn, do only properly. How properly you do will make or destroy you whilst it includes a pilot slot. intense college GPA won't remember, regardless of the undeniable fact that in case you're looking after that undesirable of a GPA in college, you would be hosing your self. only learn your butt off and shop you dream in techniques. it somewhat is a very long journey, yet in addition quite advantageous. stable success!

Violence isn't the answer. Don't join the military. Just learn how to fly a plane outside of the military if you like flying.
You say that you want to go to war but you want to keep your as-of-yet non-existant family safe. The safest thing to do is not be militaristic.
There's an old saying "Live by the sword, die by the sword."
If you want to go to war, be prepared to die and leave your family without you.
Kids also deserve to have parents that aren't in the military.
