There's nothing you can do other than not order from them.

If you know about the delivery charges, then you need to learn how to get things you want without having to order through companies like that. Try a local company that has free delivery. It may not be exactly the same piece, but you'll be surprised as to how much you'll save.

Article in local newspaper-- used book store sells books for 1 cent-- the money is made on the postage. Makes sense to me-- I order all the time and watch for shipping cost cuts! Do the same and maybe--MAYBE we'll be heard.
I haven't seen anything at Pottery Barn worth buying, anyway.
good luck

I have challenged them in the past, but not successfully. I wanted to order a bookshelf from their catalog that was not available in stores (catalog only) and my only available option was delivery. The delivery charge was going to be over $300! They were not willing to lower any shipping/handling charges no matter what I tried.

Their stuff is way overpriced for what it is. Look in a greater variety of stores and you'll probably end up w a better product anyway.
I had a similar gripe w a clothing company. They wanted to charge for delivery plus sales tax. . .so I just stopped ordering from them. They lost my business, end of story.

Doubt it! Find someone you know with a truck and offer them some money to pick it up fo you. You do not have to use their delivery system.

Yeah; hire a local moving service to do it for you--half the price, and makes them feel like a**holes.

You can't help but smile, trust me :)
