Entire books could be written on this kind of question, and most philosophers will sit and debate this thing for longer than some species have been around.

Which species are you talking about? Animals on the endangered species list cannot be hunted, therefor they cannot be eaten. And the animals we do eat, such as cows and chickens, are in no danger of dieing out.

Well, in America they usually ban the hunting of an endangered animal, but in the case of animals like whales...America doesn't allow the hunting of them, but Japan does, and they could actually hunt certain breeds of whale to extinction. Different cultures don't look at preserving the planet like others do.

That is ecologic insensitivity. The only reason for this is to prevent the extinction of a group of human beings. If the choice is between humans or animals, then roast the animal.
