Seems like Jesus paintings have been westernised despite that he is from middle-east?

It is a complicated question, because knowledge of the color of skin of Ancient Israel is largely not understood correctly, and as part of this problem the same is true for Ancient Egyptians, many of whom were black. Israel came from Egypt. Joseph married an Egyptian wife, for example. Solomon for example is described in "Song of Solomon" as being black but there is a mistranslation where we read "bushy locks black as a raven" it should read like "rear-end extremities black as a raven". Also in the book of Isaiah there is a verse saying "I am black with astonishment". It is true that Moses married a Kushite woman and that it was thought to be "interracial" by Moses' sister, but I do not know if this has anything to do with some difference in skin color or shade.

The group Shem which Abraham is from is actually Asiatic. So there must be a substratum of Asian in the Egyptian-Hebrew stock. The Hebrews were mainly Aramean before entering Egypt (about 75%), and in the Law I believe they are required to state that they are Aramean. But this has nothing to do with Aramean today. I don't think we know what they looked like but they were related to Asian, not European as is supposed.

The field of Ancient Egyptian Physical Anthropology awaits for work to be done, there is much to be done. To my knowledge little has been done in this field.

In short I believe Jesus is black. But on the other hand he is also the Son of God and so he also looks like God with light comming from him; that is another one of those paradoxes, but God excells in paradoxes.

I once watched a documentary where they speculated on Jesus' appearance. The surmised that he was short, of medium built, had short dark hair and a short beard (as was common among Jewish men at the time), and had a tanned complexion. He certainly didn't have straight blonde shoulder-length hair, blue eyes or translucently pale skin. There is no such thing as Anglo-Saxon Jesus, except in the minds of some artists

If you see paintings of Jesus in the white mindset, that was caused by the spread of Christianity to the western world. Those in the 15th century wanted to see a Christ who was the same color as they. It was carried onto today, even though Jesus would have been of Middle- Eastern descent.

Like a Jewish man of Middle-Eastern features. In other words he'd resemble more of an Arab than a Blue-eyed European.
It's just much more easier to kneel and pray before a European looking man than an Arab in the middle ages.

shall we face it, there's no longer a clue what he regarded like (if he existed in any respect, yet thats a distinctive argument). The earliest extensive-unfold depictions of him teach him as shaved with curled blond/mild brown hair. regardless of if this replaced right into a popular way of representing respected figures interior the Roman worldwide so it too is possibly suspect. the image is in all probability quite precise.

I saw an interesting sermon once on that. It showed how the begats in the Bible about Jesus' heritage proved that He pretty much had every single bloodline within Him that existed at that day.

I always wondered why that was in the Bible ... mostly I just skipped over it lol

I think he looks like the Jewish people in Israel, since he was king of the Jews, but the bible says he wasn't good looking like a super model, he was just a regular guy, so I think the pictures we see aren't quite accurate.
