I am a teenager that currently weighs somewhere around 140-150 lbs., but I'm not sure. Recently, I haven't been on a "diet," but I've been limiting extra unnessecary snacks and been trying to exercise as much as possible "through walking to and from school, being more active in gym and recess.
However, there is no motivation because I cannot tell the progress I have made. How can I really see whether I'm losing or gaining weight when I do not have access to a scale?
Oh, and my parents don't restrict it because they think I'm anorexic or anything - only because they heard from some magazine that it's not healthy to let kids have access to a scale.
Thanks!

Thank you for all the replies! I'm new to this thing, and so I'm still getting the hang of it. I was on the volleyball team, and I noticed my clothes were fitting more loosely, and I was feeling more fit. I'm strong for my age (c'td)

Okay, sorry about that. I'm so new to this Yahoo Questions thing, and so when I added details, I thought I was deleting the whole post or editing it.
Anyway... I actually have been finding an improvement in the quality of how my clothes fit, the fact that I can run longer without making a fool of myself, etc.
My ultimate goal is to find a sport that I can play. I tried out for a volleyball league, but my district was discontinued because of lack of interest. I was on the volleyball team at school, and I missede the basketball tryouts. There aren't any girl's sports, so I might jog or something independently. Gym does give me al ot of exercise, yet there's only thirty minutes of real exercise because of all the transitions - getting dressed, getting undressed, going to the gym - etc.
However, I do feel like I'm becoming increasingly successful with losing pounds and gaining muscle, which is good of course. =)
