What do you believe ,,,,,,, Why???? How long ?

I agree... what is it they believe and what possible good reason could they have for believing? And why would they stick with it for so long? Good question... no answer.

Christian and Mormon. Believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon and the authority of God through a succession of living prophets, 12 Apostles who have a direct witness of Jesus Christ, and ongoing revelation as needed for a living, growing Church organized in the same manner as the early Church of Jesus Christ. I believe because I have read and studied over the years including commentaries by W. Cleon Skousen and Hugh Nibley, among others. I grew up reading the Egermeier Bible Storybook, and the illustrations were so realistic that I felt like the Bible was about real people I might meet someday. I had to pray and read for a while to get a good strong answer, and that is just magnified each year the more I continue to read and pray. Lately I have been coming at the scriptures with more of a Jewish slant, as well as trying to see how Gospel principles can be taught to very young children. I also found out more about the city of Lamanai in Belize this summer, which was not excavated by Mormons but by a Canadian archaeologist - and that interests me because Lamanai is so close to the name Laman or Lamoni in the Book of Mormon. There's also a Jewish archaeology expert named Joseph Ginat who found proof in Israel that part of the Book of Mormon could indeed have happened there. How long have I believed? Well, it helped that I was born in the Church and baptized at age 8. But I guess more serious study took place from about age 12 on, so about 25 years if you want to know of a concerted effort.

Christian. Since Christ is the Son of God and He was set here for my sins I will follow Him. Read, starting in the Book of John.
I have been a Christian a while, been through a lot. Remember Jesus did not promise us it would be easy. They killed all the disciples for spreading His word. We do it because we are not worthy of everlasting life. We have not obeyed God's Law. We are forgiven through Jesus and now have eternal life. No one is good. I lost my faith in anything from Christianity so long ago that I don't really remember believing in the Christian god.
I chose Wicca in 1998 because it suited my personal beliefs the best.

I believe the bible. For about ten years. Why? Because I studied it all that time and came to believe it is what it claims to be; given by inspiration of God.
