Don't worry! You can still become a citizen after 5 years from the date you became a lawful permanent resident! Three if your still married to him. Call the USBCIS hot line number and order N- 400 form. The naturalization package! Sorry to hear about this! Good Luck! P.S Don't waste your time and money on a lawyer! Becoming a citizen should only cost you about $375.00 plus fingerprinting fees of about $50.00.

Dognhorsemom is correct except for one point.
A Conditional Greencard holder may be eligible to file to remove conditions separately if divorced, IF you can prove that the marriage was bona fide and entered into in good faith.
If you are successful in removing conditions separately and receive your 10 yr greencard, you are then quailfied to apply for citizenship within 5 years (the 3 year rule doesn't apply as you are no longer married to a US citizen).

If you are a permanent resident rather than conditional - that is, you have a ten-year green card, not a two-year card - then you can stay in the US. As a legal resident, you will be able to apply for US citizenship when you have fulfilled all the requirements.
If your residency is still conditional, however, you will not be able to get the ten-year card and will have to return to Pakistan.

sure, you may save the cardboard because you've been married for more effective than 2 years. the present regulation is that you'll keep on with for citizenship once you've had a eco-friendly card for more effective than 2 years, if presently married to a citizen, or for no less than 5, if not presently married (so in case you get divorced, you'll save the cardboard, yet may ought to attend to adhere to for citizenship). P.S. do not pay interest to all the rude people above.

You better go out and get a job and get a residence of your own. Then keep all paperwork and establish your life and buy a car. Get some credit. Do this all before whatever you have expires. Then go and get it renewed or go see how to obtain citizenship at uscitizenship.com

Contact your embassy for help.
Most men who bring wives into the US must have some kind of financial agreement. That is true of the Philippine women...
