I have faith that if I mention "Jesus Christ" I will get at least one thumbs down. That is faith learned from experience. I have faith in Jesus finished work on the cross and have become a willing bond slave to Christ for the remainder of my life because something inside me tells me I am born a child of the living GOD. I am willing to bet my life on it. That's saving faith. Not because I was told. I was raised Atheist. Because I know GOD personally.

I think it's time we retire this blind faith nonsense. I have studied the bible for ten years....more than I have ever studied anything...and come to believe it is the word of God after considerable thought and study.

Just as the bible says, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is belief in that which we cannot see with our eyes, but believe in our hearts.

True faith is as many have previous mention. It is believing wholly without seeing. You can obtain this kind of faith by reading the bible and getting a fruitful understanding of it. John 20:31 says these things are written that you may believe. One can increase his faith by saturating your mind with the word of God. On a personal level I encourage all Christians to study at home or wherever you may. We live in a time will many will err from the faith. The only true Faith. That is faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work. That is the epitome of faith because without faith it is impossible to please him. Paul admonishes us in 2Corinthians 13. to examine ourselves whether we be in the "faith [notice how the word faith is capitilize or it should be in your bible] because there are many types of illicit faith. Many of the new age doctrines teaches people that there faith can manipulate God into doing there will. This faith robs God of who He is. That is Self existent, All powerful, Lord, Master and God who worketh according to His own counsel. All glory and honor to God. All are free to write me.

I think going to God with a request with the attitude that you are going to get what you asked for. Most of us tend to go before Him asking for healings, help with children, money, etc. but instead of faith, we are there with out fingers crossed begging and pleading when we KNOW we were born with a mustard seed of faith that was large enough to move a mountain!! True faith is BELIEVING you are going to get it and thanking Him before you close your prayer for receiving what you've asked for. That mustard see of faith will take care of the rest. He wants us all to have the very best of everything if you are a King's Kid!!

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Faith is trusting in something though one can't see it, and it can be as simple as believing my chair will hold me when I sit down. Yes, faith CAN be blind, and yes, faith can be misplaced, but it is not always either.

(Wannaknow, could you edit your source to include the translation you used. I like the wording, and I've never heard it that way before.)

True faith is "the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld"

true faith, is admitting a sinful life, turning from it, and accepting Christ's grace.

as a Christian, i find my faith, something truly spectacular. i get to have a living relationship with my God not because of my "deeds" but cuz of his sacrifice.

The Apostle Paul said.
(basically a cool guy, that went from imprisoning Christians, to being the God's #1 guy to the non-Jews. )

All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved

it is important to note though, that the Christian faith isnt just
"oh, i believe in Jesus, so now I can do whatever i want"
that faith isnt genuine.
James, the half-brother/cousin of Christ said

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds."
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

Faith drives us to do His works, sure we mess up, but his love is immesurable, and he will always accept us back.

Christianity is the unique faith.

so to sum it up

Faith is giving yourself to God, admitting your wrong, repenting, and then living for him. Faith is best in action. +^)
