No. First off, the Mayan Long Count calendar does not END on 12-21-2012. That is the date of the first day of the 13th Baktun (A baktun is 396 years long.)
Secondly, there IS a very rare (once in 26,000 years) astronomical alignment that day, but it represents REBIRTH not death.
Thirdly, the ancient Maya knew nothing about the Bible, nor did the writers of the Bible know about the Maya. The Maya were pagans. Just look at how the Christians and the pagans get along on this forum for an idea of how that works. The Bible does not care about ancient pagan calendars or astronomical alignments, nor is the date 2012 in it. Especially since the calendar we use (the Gregorian), which starts at Jesus' birth, wasn't put into place until the 16th century.

In a word...NO.

Jesus said that no man knows the day or the hour when He will return. So, all these people that try to figure out when the rapture will be are false prophets.
They should know better than to predict that because Jesus said you can't.

Now, is it possible?...sure it is.

Bottom line is this: Since we don't know when Christ will return, we need to be ready at all times. You don't want to be caught with your pants down (so to speak) when Jesus returns for His children. By that time, it will be too late and you would have wished you followed Him while you had the chance.
