Could you add a bit about obeying the moral laws that most human beings follow ie. Not killing people etc etc? If you did it would make sense, but otherwise it could allow some crazy evil person to go on a killing spree and say that it's perfectly fine because that's their religion and their ideal.

misguided loyalty to a false cause, is illogical and a tragedy to the human spirit. ideals is what makes a man a man. it is our ideals that govern us, that give us hope for a better tomorrow, not just for our selves but for those to fallow. With out ideals we are not men, we are slaves, and misguided loyalty to a false cause makes us victims.

No...that's the same as saying all religions lead to heaven. It's absurd. Each ideal (or religion) usually says that it's the only right way, and it cannot be correct if another religion is correct. Either one is, or none are, but the truth matters.

No. Because if that were the case you could put on your lucky suit, you know the one that will protect you from oncoming traffic. The one that you sincerely believe if you are wearing it and get hit by a car speeding at 75 miles an hour you will not be hurt or killed.
If that were the case the preceding scenario would really work.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. What if a person has loyalty to killing ppl. Is that something to be loyal to. No, only a valueable idea that matters is important enough to be loyal to, and if it is not Gods ideal, we should throw it out, as it leads to destruction.
Its not us or our ideals that matter. Only Gods matter. and we need to be loyal to Him completely. God is love.

The ideals must be important or how would one be loyal to unimportant ideals?

My ideals are scorn, mockery, irrationality, and that no baby should have an unsmashed face. I'm very loyal to these standards. Does this make me good?

It's like Sidney Greenstreet said in The Maltese Falcon (paraphrased here):
Never trust anyone who truly, deeply believes in something; they always have an ulterior motive.

We can say that, but we'd be ignorant if we did so.
