I just read a question a girl posted saying that she noticed by not washing her face at night, it was more clear than when she had washed it twice or more a day...I was my face twice a day no matter what! I dont' think I've EVER gone to bed or woke up without washing. I use two different masks. Each every other day. One's for your pores and the other for acne scars. I also use face pads every night right after I wash my face in the shower. I am VERY religious about my routine. Yet, my face still has blackheads EVERYWHERE!!! I don't really get pimples, but I get blackheads. With all the taking care I do of my face, why isn't it clear? I heard there's such thing as over washing...could this maybe be my problem? Should I take it easy and give my face time to heal? I'm just afraid it'll break out if I stop my routine.

Overwashing could be your problem. Although blackheads are caused by dirt, oil and dead skin...same as a pimple basically. So maybe you're not washing enough or try switching what products you are using to cleanse your face. Keeping your hands away from your face, wiping down your phone with rubbing alcohol and changing your pillow case every few days are ways of controlling your acne or blackheads.

Have you tried steaming your face with a hot wash cloth, or standing over a pot of boiling water with a towel over your head to keep the steam in? Not too close of course, 8-12 inches away from a large pot is a good distance. Try this and then pop your blackheads with your fingers underneath a hot wash cloth, this will help push them out. And remember to wash every time after you've popped anything. Germs are miniscule but they can still spread.

Usually taking care of your face too much would result in irritation and bumps that people often confuse as being pimples, but not blackheads. And this girl that doesn't wash her face before bed...she either has dry skin so acne and blackheads aren't her worst enemy or she uses a product that I've never heard of.

Yes, you can definitely over-wash. I would take a mini-break-but not stop your overall routine. Just don't do as much.

The best my face has ever looked is when I wash twice a day, but use gentle products. I do an at home mocrodermabrasion routine 3 times a week. no more than that because that would overstimulate oil production and/or be too harsh. I think you are probably overdoing the masks and need an exfolient like a microdermabrasion. Make sure your face wash is gentle and don't use a a toner/purifier that has a lot of alchohol. Also, make sure you use moisterizer. Then, I would do microdermabrasion 2-3 times a week and alternate your masks but only do a it a TOTAL of 2 times per week. So, one mask per week. Try for a month. I use this routine for all of my clients and have had really good results. But, it takes time and your diet also needs to be good and you should drink lots of water. Also, make sure you are using QUALITY products that are designed to work together. Drugstore brands are less expensive, but many of them are too harsh or have chemicals that aren't good for your skin. Good luck!

Everyone has different skin. What may work for her probably won't work for you. If you have acne and blackheads you need to keep it up. If you still have blackheads when you wash so much it's time to switch to something else. Or you need to add another product into your regime. Do you already use Serious Skin Care products? They have stuff for blackheads too. SSC has a foam cleanser that works great on blackheads. Masks also help too. Sometimes you need to intermix products for the best results for you.

Yes there is a thing call overwashing! I wash my face every night (different from the other girl's experience) but I DONT wash my face in the morning, I just use cold water to wash it but no facial cleanser in the morning. Also, I wonder what the masks you are using, does any of those replenish the water content in your skin? You can use a water/ moisture mask more than once per week but for deep cleansing/ pore minimizing/ curing ance masks, they seem to be very strong and it could dry your skin.

Yes, you can overwash - skin requires a certain amount of oil, so it will produce more oil if you wash too much. Do you use an exfoliator of any kind? Salicylic acid is a good one, as are gentle scrubs - this always has helped my blackheads. Even just a little baking soda mixed into your cleanser will work.

My fiance has noticed so much of a difference in my skin that I caught him using the stuff. Seriously, look into the stuff.

you are probably useing mild clensers. You need to deep clean your face few times a week. I recommend Purpose bar soap, or Neotogena fragrance free clear bar soap. These soaps will deep clean your pores. Wash your face and look in the mirror, you will see how clean your pores are.
