And that you'll go there if you don't accept Jesus as the one true lord, but a Catholic priest I know says any religion that is a fountain of God's true love is a path to heaven. Truth is that most priests I have talked to don't believe in hell because they, having studied the bible, know more of it's origins and know that certain stories are only stories.

Maybe hell is only a place for those who believe in it yet refuse to live by their own dogma. After all, what may be right for you, may not be right for some, and your own beliefs in what awaits you after death is certainly a very personal thing and does not apply to everyone. Especially considering that nothing has ever, ever been proven to a certainty.

Our minds usually accept the dogmas and myths of our culture. Most peoples' minds become programmed with the beliefs of their era and society. They don't think for themselves but let their parents, their friends, their favorite TV show, or what cultural beliefs implant in them. To be able to form sound opinions and make effective decisions, you must know how to think critically. Enlightened thinking involves the careful consideration of multiple points of view and keeping our minds open to alternative sources of information. Unless we work at becoming critical thinkers, there is a natural tendency is to limit our ideas to only those that are easily available, never really discovering or considering alternative sources of information. Christians and most people following dogma and never think to question what they are learning. Sheep - humanity is in reality a herd of sheep.

Basically as a born again believer, I know for a fact Hell exist, based on bible scripture.

In the bible the gospel of Luke chapter 16, verses 19 thru 31. In these verses the Lord Jesus is telling a true account. How you know that it is true is because it mentions actual people, namely Lazarus, Abraham and Moses.
Some are known to have said (because they don't want to accept the fact that Hell is real), that this is a parable.
Yet if you look at all the parables that the Lord Jesus told, he never mention actual people, the people in the parables were never literal people. But here in Luke these are all actual people.

It says in Luke:
There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.

The rest of the verses you can read for yourself.

Also please read Revelation chapter 20, verses 11 thru 15 and chapter 21, verse 8.

Now just because you choose not to believe in Hell or the second death the Lake of Fire, well thats on you. Yet studying the Word of God for 27 years I can truly say that it is real.

I do hope that you do have Jesus in your heart, because if you don't then when you die you'll certainly find out that what you've learned from this Catholic priest isn't the truth about God's Word.
You'll know then without a doubt that Hell is really real and then you will be in hell cursing those that lead you to believe that it isn't real.

So with that I'll leave you with my most trusted and well used motto:

God said it...I read it...I believe it...I received it... that settles it!!

I'll be praying for you........Love ya
In Jesus name

Yeah and those people know what God thinks. Hell is simply buried in the ground. If your people read the bible they would know that. You need not worry about hell though. I mean how can you go to hell when you die when satan is not there yet.
The Lake of fire is what you should worry about. This is the eternal death that Jesus' promises those that do not do what he commands. Better Learn for yourself anf find out how you can enter into the kingdom. All relgion comes from the Roman catholic church.

Dear bloody Wing, You said that a catholic preist you know said "any religion that is a fountain of God's true love is a path to heaven. " heres a question for you. I belive Regis Philban is God, and If I pray tward newyork and sing "broadway" I belive I wil gain regis favor and live with him for an eternity. Am I right or wrong? Its obvious that Im wrong, it fosent matter how much I belive Regis Philban is God, it dosent make it true just becuase I belive it, nor does it make my belife "another" path to God. In reality No religion is truer than another, religion is mans futile effort to attain peace with God. The Christian dosent strive to have peace with God, it has been given to him through the person Jesus Christ. Jesus said "The son of man has the power to forgive sins in heaven and upon earth." No ther religion can do this, nor has any relgious leader claimed this. Christianity is not a man made religon, but rather a relationship with the one true God. I would now Like to explain Hell and why it is real and reasonable and why it exist. Let me ask you a few questions........

Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and the BIble say's "he who hates his brother is a murderer." Have you ever hated someone?
Keeping in mind that Nothing you’ve ever done is hid from His holy eyes. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and the BIble syas the penalty for your sins is death and Hell. Why? Imagne a Judge who turned a blind eye to criminals and let them simply go free, This Judge would be corrupt, If the Judge is just, he will punish crime and give each one the Justice they deserve. The Bible says God is the holy and just judge of all the universe, so it is obviously true that by Gods very nature, he must punish sin and he will, Hell is the prison God has created for those who have transgressed his Law. Hel is eternal and it is described often in the BIble, simply read the Book of Luke where the rich man ends up in hell, he was awake and aware he was in hell and knew remorse for his sin. But theres good news, God sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name and if you wil repent (turn from sin) and place your faith and trust in Jesus as Lord and savior God will forgive you and grant you the gift of everlasting life.
God Bless

Most things that anyone believes in can't be "proven," but there can be enough evidence to make faith an easier matter. Jesus specifically said there is a hell, and whether you believe in it or not, it's there, and there's only one way out of going there.

In the end, you don't have to believe in it: you'll see in the end.

I'm glad to hear that there are people on this site willing to be honest. Do you know who else spoke about hell? Jesus did.

Yes, God is loving. He is so loving that He allowed His son to die on a cross to pay for our sins. But let's not take all the nice easy stuff and not listen to the consequences of rejecting Jesus.....that we will be condemned to hell if we are not saved by faith in Him.

I'm very sorry to hear that there are those who will not put forth this truth, and claim to be men of God.

Seems that the hell bit is a big selling point of Christianity on Answers. Maybe it makes them feel quite happy about themselves, they don't want Mr. Athiest sitting beside them in heaven so they think that if they scream hell enough then he'll really go to hell and they can sit beside Jesus instead?

What the hell are you talking about here?

Ok Ok, sorry, I was being facetious. But really, Christians talk a lot about hell, but we also talk a lot about heaven too. It's about where we are going after we die. And hell is certainly a place you want to avoid.

becareful who you ask, the catholic preist is caught in a deception himself, so I don't know how he would be a good advisor.

Hell is very real, and yes, Jesus Christ is the only way out. There is no need to have more than one road that takes you to life, Jesus Christ is that one and only road by God's design, not mine.
I'm just delighted to know this wonderful road that leads to life.

What do you mean, how do I?

Duh.

When Jesus Christ Himself, preached Hell, more times than anybody in the Bible, I think I'll pass this along.
