what should i wear to my brothers wedding?

It really depends on what type of wedding it is. Judging by your screen name I'll assume you're a male. Here are the generally accepted guidelines for the different wedding types:

Informal Daytime: Dress shirt and pants, preferably a sports jacket.
Informal Evening: Suit
Semi-Formal Daytime: Suit
Semi-Formal Evening: Dark suit
Formal Daytime: Dark suit and tie
Formal Evening: Tuxedo (if invitation states "black tie") or dark suits if women wear short dresses.
Ultra-formal Evening or White Tie: White tie, cummerbund, vest and shirt.

If it's a formal, and you're wearing a tuxedo, a black tux with white shirt and black bow tie is the best way to go. But keep in mind that trendier cities like Los Angeles and New York might be more accepting of breaking with tradition. You'll want to wear a dark suit, with a tie if the wedding is after 6 PM, and doesn't say "Black Tie."

As is the case with any event, use good judgment if the invitation doesn't specify the formality. A dark suit and conservative tie will take you just about anywhere.

If you're looking for what a female should wear, here are the generally accepted rules for the ladies:

Informal Daytime: Short dress or suit (business attire OK for morning weddings)
Informal Evening: Cocktail dress
Semi-Formal Daytime: Short dress or suit
Semi-formal Evening: Cocktail dress
Formal Daytime: Short dress or suit. Hats and gloves optional.
Formal Evening or Black-Tie: Long or dressy short cocktail (beading, glam accessories, wrap)
Ultra-formal or White Tie: Long gown, extra glitz (furs, diamonds, etc.)

If you are a guy, and i dont know how to tell from your grey smiley face, a suit. Go to mens warehouse or somewhere similar. get your sizes. then go to a discount department store and buy a black suit. Get a colored shirt and tie. also a dark red or blue tie and white shirt. Wear this at the wedding, job interviews, dinners, nice night out. Don't be afraid to show some style guys. besides, women love it, and you might get a job too. You can do all this for about $100.

Girls: (I dont know yer gender xD) I'd say a nice flamboyant dress that is either really poofy or really slimming. WEAR FLOWERS IN YOUR HAIR!!! SOMETHING IN THE HAIR!!! Hair is fun to curl. Dont kill yourself with makeup, just some lipstick and maybe eyeliner nad eyeshadow should do it. Mascara... eh... not su much.

i would wear something really nice if you like his wife but if you do not just wear black as that is what i did for my cousins wedding i did not like his wife so i wore all black and she got the message loud and clear she aske me if i was going to a funeral and i said well i may be you just never know
