What year of F-250 is it? Is it equipped with a manual or automatic? A 7.5L (460) V8 is a gas guzzler to begin with, so I don't know what your expectations are for fuel economy. Is ignition timing set properly? What is the mileage on the engine? Are there any cylinders down (low on compression?)? Are the wires installed in the correct engine's firing order (1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8)? Sorry, for this type of concern there are too many variables. You need to go into a little more detail with your description.

As you see, more info. is needed. For sure the year to tell if is obd 2
If you paid for a tune up you got ripped off. A mechanic should have found the miss and tracked it down.
I have found a miss that was difficult by parking in a dark garage, or a place with little or no light, open the hood, start the engine and look closely for a spark. Especially around dist. cap and coil.

What year 460 ?
some years had bad cams & a 460 is a true gas gussler.
Ck and see what cylnders arnt firing, pull wire off of cap while running > yea you might get shocked but wont kill ya unless you got a pace maker :) loosen wire on cap before starting listen for unaform drop of rpms for each cyl.
do compression ck on thoes cyls.

Sounds like you either have a valve seat that needs ground or you may have a bad head gasket. Did you check the timing chain?? Cam could be worn also. Did you gap the plugs correctly... sometimes new plugs are bad.. might want to recheck them... Might have a bad vacuum line . Could be a number of things. If you do not know how to check these things.. i suggest you get someone to help you. This can get costly if you don't know what you are doing !!... GL

There are so many things it could be. Is the truck carburetted or fuel injected? The problem may be in the computed timing, but the best advise is to take it to the Ford Dealer that knows this type of truck. In the long run it will save you money.

depending on the mileage you may want to think about changing the timing chain and gears. also double check the firing order and connections on the wires.if its an older motor check the points in the distributor or the timing. the fuel filter might be clogged if it hasn't been changed

Have you had the compression checked out in each cyclinder? You might need new rings. Good Luck.
Have a nice day!

If its fuel injection, could be map sensor, or fuel pressure regulator, or engine running too cold.
If its old, carburator. 460 was one of the best engines Ford ever made, what they have now is crap.
