The US signed a free trade pact with Mexico, NAFTA. The US pays a lot of lip service to capitalism, free entreprise, free markets, etc. but are firmly opposed to the free flow of labor, i.e. wall. That is so hypocritical.

As other countries are creating economic blocs, the EU, for example, the US is busy walling itself off from the world. The US has taken a rough beating from cheap imports from Asia and the EU although not perfect, has made significant gains against the dollar. If the US could stop with this nonsense, if you anti-immigrantion people could stop with your nonsense, then maybe, just maybe the US could head a North American Union that would put these countries out of business.

In the meantime though, the Daimler-Chryslers and Toyotas will eat the US alive. Now, that's where all the good jobs went and will continue to go.

By out of business, I mean, of the business of eating the US alive.
Look around you next time you go to Walmart or Sears. Everything is Made in China.

The average person wakes up to the sounds of their alarm, Made in China, clothes themselves with fresh from the sweatshop attire from Southeast Asia, hop into their car Made in Japan and drudge 9-5 to come home and watch Football in their Made in Korea HDTV.

For classier citizens replace all that with EU countries.

All the trade and much more continues between U.S. and Mexico. The wall/fence was begun by the Minutemen Project to get the attention of the federal government over the impact 20 million give or take immigrants across the Southern border is having on our resources. We must have immigration reform that is fair to the citizens and as fair as it can be for the Mexican Nationals. We have not secured the border following 9/11 and terrorists are known to have come across the border - we've caught a few and that is what they tell us. We here in
So. Calif. are so vulnerable that I believe it is too late to save thousands if not more from dirty bombs. All of our people will be affected and we will have no one to blame but ourselves.

So for you labor is only a good, a thing to be bought and sold at will? This is perhaps the major flaw in your argument.

Before you react, remember also that the EU does not allow rampant illegal immigration. Their governments still have the final say on how many people enter their country. And they also crack down on illegal immigration you know.

And Asia too cracks down on illegal immigrants (just look at China silly).

People are not goods, and Illegal Immigration is not the same as Legal (legit) Immigration or Economies. Remember that next time.

Why does Mexico throw people in jail for illegally entering Mex? Beside economics and ignoring the law, there is also the minor detail of Nat'l Security. It's no secret the terrorists are onto this easy entrance as they are already in over 40 states. Whatever pressure group is swaying the govt to overlook this vital issue of anyone strolling into our country even those here to plan our demise, they better put US survival FIRST.

this is the stupidest thing i've ever heard. what do you want? all the mexicans (i have no problem against legal immigrats the only reason i use mexicans is because there is a lot of them who are illegal) rebel against the government like immigrants did in france. most of the countries are cutting back on crappy immigration. us a is a high quallity nation most of the people are well educated. there is no reason to lover the standards. we can purchase our apples from china and sell them expensive services. yes there is a trade defficate between chine and japan right now but it is no where close to worry.

Does the free trade allow illegal immigrants?
I bust my *** every day to give my children a good life but I cannot agree with the notion of allowing people into America without desire to become citizens. One Mexican went on a killing rampage, then fled to Mexico and was luckily extradited.
Look up how many illegal immigrants come the US each year. You maybe shocked. This is what the wall hopes to accomplish.

Free Trade doesn't mean they're free to walk into the U.S. whenever they feel like it and pitch up a camp, get food stamps, go to our emergency rooms and leave the taxpayers with the bill. We need a wall and I say run a strong electric current through it as well!

If you had to live on this border you would understand. Wanting to keep the illegals out is not opposing the free flow of labor, it is opposing the free flow of illegal alliens as well as illegal narcotics. It also opposes (as you put it) the free flow of violent and sometimes fatal attacks on United States Border Patrol Agents as well as other local law enforcement officials, and innocent civilians. Have you forgotten about the railway killer? He was recently executed in TEXAS for the murder of several innocent civilians in the United States. God I love Texas.

Last I heard NAFTA cost millions of US jobs. The US normally doesn't need a bloc becouse the economy is so huge they do not need help from other countries. The original debate about illegal immigration was unchecked immigrants bringing TERRORISTS with them unknowingly. The USA is a soverign country. Are we not allowed to limit the amount of terrorists to bring into our country??

What are you talking about? Do you think they are building a wall across the roads and check points??? The wall will keep them from crossing ILLEGALLY in areas that are hard to patrol. It wont have nothing to do with trade...We are opposed to the free flow of ILLEGALS,you know there is a legal way?

Think of the wall, not as a symbol of division, but as a symbol of frustration from all the illegals wasting our tax money..
P.S. Free Labor = Slavery
