Private Jackson, the sharp-shooter, quotes from the Hebrew Psalter (I've been told) before he shoots. This is suppose to be like a prayer to bless his ability and it seems to work well. But I recognized Psalm 25:2 in one part, and he wears a Christian cross. Does anyone know what he is actually saying? Is it a prayer or a scripture? From where? Jewish or Christian?

This is what he said:
Be not that far from me, for trouble is near; haste Thee to help me.
Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Psalm 25 is a Prayer for Protection, Guidance and Pardon.

The Psalter is the prayerbook of the people of God. The tradition of incorporating the Psalter in the teaching and life and worship of the primitive community was maintained in the centuries following the apostolic period and continued to provide a major influence upon the thought and spirituality of Christians throughout patristic times. People of all faith have referred to this book. Interestingly enough, my maiden name is Salter!

DISAGREE! I love Saving Prive Ryan and I also adore Apocalypse Now, but they're not the best war movies. BQ: Saving Private Ryan, a much better film overall. BBQ (yum! lolol): YES! That, I'd agree to. Best war movie in my opinion? This sounds stupid but I fully believe that INGLORIOUS BASTERDS is the best. I'm sick of cliched war movies, and war movies that are too depressing or too boring with flat characters who just randomly die. Inglorious Basterds is awesome because it throws away all the cliches and its pure WWII fantasy. Hell, brad pitt has a freaking southern accent... and then there's the BEAR JEW!!! What an awesome flick.

Psalms 144

One of the most common questions spouses ask when confronting a marriage crisis is this: How can I save my marriage if my partner doesn't want to help find a solution? How do I succeed I am trying to save my marriage on my own? Learn here https://tr.im/kuH0p

It is a typical enough story: one partner leaves, the other stays. One remains 'in love', the other is uncertain. Whatever it is that has caused a couple to be apart, the one person who remains bears the prospect, fear, doubt, desire, hope of saving his or her marriage' alone.

It gives a rather interesting parallel on scripture and the movie.
