It is a pretty wild idea, where you think a supreme being has nothing better to do than watch billions of beings personally and then figure out how to get even with them.

No they are the most egocentric because they beleive their religion is THE ONLY right one and went around for 800 years or so KILLING ANYONE who didn't agree.Or have you christians completely forgotten about the Middle Ages and The Crusades and the independent slayings that happen every time one of yours goes whacko and claims God has made him the new Messiah.

Probably, but mainly the belief causes paranoia. God is all big and important, why does he have to be watching you when you're on the toilet with a bad attack of diarrhea?

why wouldn't God watch us. He created us. Then the first man that He made from Dirt disobeyed Him and gave everything to the devil. Then He put His Spirit in the virgin Mary and was born a human so He could redeem us back to Him. We are born sinners. We have a sin nature. We must cry out to God and surrender to Him. You are looking for God but you do not know what you are looking for. I want God to watch over me and protect me. When something bad happens in my life God sees it and uses it to my advantage. He makes something good out of it for me. No body complains about the devil watching them and stealing from them. His job is to steal, kill and destroy in your life. Either you have God in your life or you have the devil. It is your choice.I hope God never leaves me. He promised me that he wouldn't. Sin separates us from God. I am the righteousness of God thru Jesus Christ and I can not sin. I have God's nature now. Born again. God is spirit and so is the devil. Guess what, You are too. What you do not see is more real than what you do see. You had better cry out for God to be with you. If He did not give you each breath you would not have any breath.

That is not egocentricity, it is a way of reminding them to think morally. Is this not the case with other religions?

No. They claim that God watches everyone. He is Omni-powerful and Omni-present. They do say he is watching them, but that is primarily to teach morals, I.E. "Don't shoot the dirty homeless man right now Timmy. Do it when God isn't watching you."
