Try apricot scrub. I had very bad acne when i was a kid, and my mom gave me that. It helped alot. Don't pick at your face: the infected oils in your pores is spread when you do that.

There are two chemicals that are put in cleansers that help acne. In most cleansers is Sylisic acid (not sure about the correct spelling). In other cleansers they put Benzoyl-peroxide. I use Benzoyl-peroxide this is the ingredient in the popular Proactive cleanser. But i have fond a product called AcneFree which is a cheap version of proatice that you can buy at wallmart.
For right now because you dont have these products on hand....
1 wash your face
2 boil some water put it in a bowl and put your face over the bowl with a towel covering your head and the bowl, this will "steam clean you", do this for about 5 min.
3 Then rinse your face with water
4 put a cooled wash cloths on your face for another 5 min. this will help close your pores and calm you skin.
If you have dry skin rub a little lotion on the palms of you hands and pat you face. Now dont pick and go to bed.

Go to the dollar store and buy witch hazel 2-4 bucks and some cotton balls and antibacterial ointment. At night use 1 cotton ball for each boil and wash it and throw it away so as not to contaminate another area on the face. This is bacteria. Make sure to wash your hands first. Then do this to all of them and before bed take a washcloth with hot saltwater and clean each one by dabbing. when it dries put a dab of ointment on i=each one and do not contaminate the end of the tube, use q-tip or a clean finger. Do this for 2 wks. if if isn't helping you need Dr. antibiotic. this is a bacterial infection and witch hazel is a natural astringent and PH balanced. The salt water has a drawing effect and the ointment at night helps kill the bacteria. Always keep your hands clean, wash, wash, all day. If you have to carry soap or antibacterial wipes in your backpack to school. do not touch your acne and another part of your face, it spreads. So, keep the washcloths seperate, they need to be bleached to keep from spreading the bacteria. you can do that yourself. don't let them lay around, let them dry if you can't bleach them right away. Never wipoe your face when cleaning. Dab, so as not to spread the bacteria. OK? I wish you luck. don't use anti plaque tooth paste, prevention magazine did an article about it yrs. ago, my daughter had acne around chin, cheek area. It cleared when she stopped the toothepaste. So, you never know. Bye.

acne is caused by something internal. for example, i had the WORST acne on my jaw and below my nose. it looked like i had a red, scaly beard. i was embarrassed to even go out of my room. the dermatologist gave me this cream to put on it, and told me he didn't know what it was on my face - big help.
the cream made it better for a week before it came back even worse than before.
so, without consulting a doctor, i started to think it might be allergies. i was right, it was milk. now i don't have any acne since i stopped drinking milk :-).
try this - i know it's tough, but try it. for three days at a time, stop eating a certain thing.
1st three days: NO lactose (ice cream, cheese, milk, cream...) i know, it's hard, but you want your face clear, right? if you face is still full of new zits at the end of the three days, then you know milk isn't your problem.
2nd three days: NO flour. (bread, waffles, twinkies, cookies...). flour causes your body to make grease, which makes acne worse. if you acne is still continuing, keep going
3rd three days: NO sugar (you know what sugar is lol) . i know, this is the hardest one. but, see if your acne clears.
if you acne is still causing turmoil, you can be pretty sure it's not an allergic reaction. you may have candida, or metals in your tissue that your body is trying to get rid of through your skin. (if you have fillings, you have metal, and your acne will be made worse). go see a nutritionist, or a homeopathic doctor. a dermatologist will just put you on antibiotics, and trust me, those make it worse. and face wash helps, but i only use water now and my skin is very clear. if you take care of what's bothering your insides, the outside will take care of itself :-).
good luck!

Change your moisturizer soap to Ivory soap. Growing up the boys next door went to all kinds of doctors for their acne. She finally came over to ask my mom what we put on our faces to have a clean complexion's. The boys started using Ivory soap and a month later their faces looked very good. No acne.

Try Ortho Tri Cyclen birth control, it works. I went on BC because my Dr. wanted to put me on Accutane
(Accutane can cause horrible birth defects if you get pregnant while on it, so for legal reasons, any woman who wants to go on it must be on birth control, regardless of whether they are sexually active or not) but after a few weeks of the BC, my face started to clear up. Took it when I was 16, am off it now, been clear ever since. It worked great.

i suggest washing your face in the evening only. that way all oils from that collect during the day can be washed away, and any makeup can be washed off because leaving it on overnight can make matter worse. also, over washing can make it worse. using toothpaste will dry out the open pores making them easier to get rid of. also, try using something like Apricot Scrub. that stuff works pretty well. don't pick at your face at all because that will open the sores up allowing for more oil and other things to go into them making them harder to get rid of.

I HIGHLY recommend the Pro-active solution. This is coming from someone who has gone through dozens of prescription medications, including accutane. If you use the system everyday as its supposed to, your acne will go away.

you can first start with a cleaning pad such as clearasil, or strydex, after cleaned apply astringent which closes the pores, then you can apply acne medicine as well after astringent dries, sometimes acne is one of those things in your genes and takes awhile to go away

Most things that work well need a prescription so check with a dermatologist or your PCP. Retin A, differin gel, etc all need a RX so you need to see a doctor.
