The correct spelling for it is Qur'an.

It has been the source of Allah's wisdom for more than fourteen centuries for Muslims throughout the world. This message to humanity was sent down in Arabic, over a period spanning approximately 23 years, but since then it has been translated into many other languages. The Quran has not been expressed by using any human's words. Its wording is letter for letter fixed by Allah alone, and Allah has guaranteed that He will protect the Quran from any human tampering. Therefore The Qur'an of today is the same as the Qur'an revealed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and the exact copies of original Arabic text are available all over the world.

The Qur'an is a guidance for those who want and need it.This means that every aspect of the individual’s daily existence is guided by Islam: his family relations, his business relations, his education, his health, the means and manner by which he gains his livelihood, his philanthropy, what he sees and hears around him, what he reads, the way he regulates his time, the buildings in which he lives, learns and earns.

The Qur'ān [1] (Arabic: القرآن ‎ al-qurʼān, literally "the recitation"; also called al-qurʼān al-karīm "The Noble Qur'an"; also transliterated as Quran, Koran, and Al-Quran), is the central religious text of Islam.

The Qur'an, in its original Arabic is the literal word of God that was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (p) over a period of twenty-three years until his death. It is God's final revelation to humankind and is the closest thing to a part of God in the world.

[2] Muslims also call the Qur'an the "Final Testament", "The Book", "Book of God" or "The Revelation."

The Qu'ranic revelations were originally memorised by Muslims as Muhammad (p) spoke them, with some being written down on whatever was at hand, from stones to pieces of bark. Compilations of the Qu'ran began under the Caliph Umar, and it was Uthman who compiled it into one book. All of the Muslims use just one Qur'an and there isn't any differences among the sects. The Qu'ran has never changed in substance since. It is the most beautiful book in Arabic.

Well as far as I know A Koran is a book very much like the Bible they have for the catholics.
Only problem is different people have there own interpretation of the Koran, and its not always true blue.
How it was written many eons ago, now has a different version.
You now have radical Islamics who have there own interpretation of the Koran. Nothing like the one that was written specifically for peaceful like people.

However they also changed the wording of the bible. It was written in Latin and the words are now English. Also an interpretation change.

In the ideal case it would give us a very rich insight, as bible could give us the insight into western society (assuming that most of population call themselves christians) . But if u try to do this comparision u will find out that most of people doesnt behave as Jesus did in his time (there would be no wars for example) so is the same case with Quran.

Judge islam upon Quran, not upon muslims coz muslims are people and people is always different and likely to fail...

Type Koran, Quran, Curran in the search engine and you will find translations of the book for you to read. It is worth the time and it is not much different than the bible. the differences are dramatic though.

I still have not figured out the correct way to spell the name. I see it many different ways.

the Quran is the conlusion of God religions. straight, direct, deep, strong words that hits you in the heart. and so people don't have excues, God made the Quran accepted to read at any time, either past or future, it can be understood by any generation at anytime. it's a miracle.

[22] And We have indeed made the Qur'ân easy to understand and remember; then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
