Hi,

My understanding is that Blu Ray is the better technically. I would be interested in hearing what others think and if anyone has one of these players what their experiences are.

I won't buy one until at least the second generation players are out.

Which do you think I should go for?

I look forward to reading your opinions.

Blu Ray holds way more memory than a normal DVD and HDDVD, thus allowing the quality of the movie to be better. The average Blue Ray player sells for over $800 though.

I think that it's a case of wait & see...it's going to be like the VHS & Betamax format war.. but if neither disc is the clear 'winner' - then they will have to bring out dual format machines (they are already working on this - see links).
